Rainer Kempe was in the small blind and got all the chips in the middle before the flop against Manuel Martinez, who was in the big blind.
Martinez was way ahead with his pocket kings and Kempe needed help from the deck in order to eliminate his opponent. The board ran out to give Kempe the nut flush but make a full boat for Martinez, so he took the pot to double up.
With about 17,000,000 already in the middle and the board reading , Andrei-Lucian Boghean checked from the big blind and Rainer Kempe bet 5,000,000 from the hijack. Boghean check-raised to 17,000,000, Kempe moved all-in, and Boghean called with the larger of the two stacks by a narrow margin.
Boghean had the lead with top pair and Kempe needed to improve in order to preserve his tournament life. The on the turn put Kempe in the lead, the river changed nothing and Kempe took the pot to leave Boghean extremely short.
