Shatilov Flops Quads but Doesn't Get It All

Nível 32 : 2,000,000/4,000,000, 4,000,000 ante

Andrey Shatilov raised to 10 million from middle position with {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Dan Dizenzo three-bet to 26 million on the button holding {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Shatilov just called with his aces and the two players saw a flop.

The dealer fanned the flop of {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and both players checked to the {2-Hearts} on the turn. They also checked to the {2-Diamonds} on the river and Shatilov bet 23 million. Dizenzo quickly called and saw the bad news that Shatilov flopped quad aces.

Greenwood Goes for Broke

Nível 33 : 2,500,000/5,000,000, 5,000,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised to 9 million from the cutoff with {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Andrey Shatilov defended his big blind with {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. The flop came {q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Shatilov check-called a bet of 7 million from Greenwood.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Shatilov checked again. Greenwood fired another 36 million and Shatilov stuck around to see the {7-Diamonds} on the river. Shatilov checked again and Greenwood made a huge river bet of 139 million, enough to put Shatilov at risk. After thinking for a couple moments, Shatilov did indeed make the call, leaving Greenwood with just over five big blinds.
