Welcome to the Final Opening Flight of the $10M GTD Super MILLION$ Main Event

GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week
GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week

Welcome to the Day 1d coverage of the $10,300 Super MILLION$ Main Event at GGPoker starting at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST) as part of the GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week.

The GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week features a huge $30 million in guaranteed prizes across 31 events.

GGPoker really stepped it up a notch with the festival's crown jewel in the Super MILLION$ Main Event. This event boasts a $10,300 buy-in along with a massive $10 million guarantee for double the $5 million guarantee this event featured as part of High Rollers Week in November.

It wouldn't be surprising to see the guarantee crushed as there were already 632 entrants during the first three opening flights. Tonight's four and final opening flight should be the biggest of them all with many players hoping to punch their ticket into Day 2 and beyond.

Romania's Vlad-Stefan "HaiFanFan" Lache, playing at GGPoker under an Uruguayan flag, holds the chip lead after three opening flights after bagging 2,818,433 in chips on Day 1b.

Super MILLION$ Main Event Structure

The Super MILLION$ Main Event boasts four opening flights on Feb. 28, March 2, March 6, and March 7. The tournament will be played eight-handed throughout Day 1 with the eventual final table slated as a nine-max affair.

Players will begin the action with a 100,000 starting stack, good for 200 big blinds to begin the day. Blind levels will increase slowly at every 20-minutes and there will be a six-minute break every 55-minutes past the hour.

Players will have plenty of chances to build a monster stack as they can re-enter an unlimited amount of times during the long 16-level late-registration window during each of the four opening flights. Each opening flight will end after 22 blind levels are in the books.

Surviving opening flight players will then battle it out on Day 2 on Monday, March 8 at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST) and conclude when just nine players remain. Randy "nanonoko" Lew and Kevin "RotterdaM" van der Kooi will host a live stream of the final table when it kicks off the following day at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST) at the GGPoker YouTube channel.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing all of the action as the day unfolds, so stay tuned starting at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST)!

Fedor Holz Challenges Wiktor Malinowski to Heads-Up Battle

Nível 2 : 300/600, 75 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

For a guy confident enough to recently issue an open challenge to play nearly anyone in the world at any stakes, Wiktor "limitless" Malinowski seems to be receiving a surprising number of takers.

While Malinowski remains in the midst of a lengthy heads-up challenge against Stefan "Stefan11222" Burakov on PokerStars, tournament legend Fedor Holz announced he wants in on the action.

"Yo, Wiktor, what's up?" Holz said in a video posted to Twitter. "I see you're getting crushed by Stefan in your heads-up challenge. How's that going? My condolences.

"Before he takes all your money, I want to get back to that offer you made on Joe [Ingram's] podcast. To play me drunk whenever I want, whatever stakes I want. So, yeah, let's f****** do it, I challenge you."

Volkmann Cracks Aces to Take the Lead

Nível 2 : 300/600, 75 ante

Bruno Volkmann limped from the small blind before Claas Segebrecht raised big to 22,800 from the big blind. Volkman jammed for 104,595 and Segebrecht called off for about a starting stack.

Claas Segebrecht: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Bruno Volkmann: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

It was looking good for Segebrecht to double and his odds went up after the {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{k-Clubs} came on the flop. However, the {j-Spades} turn gave Volkmann a full house and Segebrecht was unable to recover on the {6-Diamonds} river.

Segebrecht didn't immediately re-enter after the hand but has about 5 1/2 hours to still do so if he opts to later.

Gieles Out with a Boat

Nível 3 : 400/800, 100 ante

Luuk Gieles limped from early position. Felipe Ramos completed from the small blind before Charles "TheMadQueen" La Boissonniere made it 3,200 from the big blind. Gieles called and Ramos folded.

La Boissonniere bet 3,040 after the {4-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{k-Spades} came on the flop and got a call. He then led out for 10,560 after the {10-Diamonds} came on the turn and Gieles called again.

The {k-Clubs} paired the board on the river and La Boissonniere fired out for 28,400. Gieles jammed for 77,153 and La Boissonniere made the call.

Gieles held {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a full house but his boat wasn't strong enough as La Boissonniere held {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} for a better full house to win the hand. Gieles didn't immediately re-enter after the hand but has more than five hours to still do so if he wishes.

Dvoress Delivers Peters a Bad Beat to Take the Lead

Nível 3 : 400/800, 100 ante

Daniel Dvoress opened for 1,760 from under the gun. Krasimir Yankov called from middle position before David Peters three-bet to 7,760 from the button. Dvoress four-bet to 21,420. Yankov folded before Peters five-bet jammed for 90,791. Dvoress made the quick call and the players showed their cards.

David Peters: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Daniel Dvoress: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Peters was well ahead with his cowboys and looked prime to double up. Instead, he hit the rail. Peters won the hand with a set with the {7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts} running out on the board to take the chip lead.

Ludovic "Gr4vyB04t" Geilich opened to 2,800 from middle position. Christian Rudolph three-bet to 8,400 from the hijack. Geilich four-bet to 29,675 before he called a five-bet jam by Rudolph for 91,128.

Christian Rudolph: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Ludovic "Gr4vyB04t" Geilich: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Both players improved to a full house on the {8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} board but Geilich was ahead from start to finish to take the chip lead.

Rudolph immediately re-entered for a fresh stack of 100,000 in chips after the hand.

Nível 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Manuel Ruivo opened for 8,400 from the cutoff. Mirza Muhovic three-bet to 26,088 from the button before Christian Rudolph four-bet jammed for 210,219 from the small blind. Ruivo folded and Muhovic made the call.

Christian Rudolph: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Mirza Muhovic: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} board didn't help Rudolph get back into the hand and Muhovic took the lead after felting his opponent. Rudolph is back in action as he re-entered for a fresh stack of 100,000 in chips after the hand.

Bicknell Doubles Off Muhovic

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 600 ante

Kristen Bicknell opened for 10,000 from the hijack and was called by Mirza Muhovic in the big blind.

Muhovic check-raised the {10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop from 9,009 to 31,464. Bicknell three-bet jammed for 141,085 and Muhovic called.

Kristen Bucknell: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Mirza Muhovic: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Bicknell had a small advantage in the hand with an overcard, a gutshot straight draw, and a flush draw despite Muhovic hitting a pair. Her odds went down after the {4-Clubs} peeled off on the turn. However, the {q-Clubs} river gave Bicknell a better pair than Muhovic to win the hand and double her stack.
