In just under two and a half hours, a champion was crowned in the 2021 GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week Event #6: $25,500 Super High Roller. The joint second most expensive tournament of the high-stakes festival on GGPoker attracted a field of 114 entries and the top 15 finishers earned a portion of the $$2,850,000 prize pool.

The fast-paced final table was dominated by Russia's Arsenii Malinov, who defeated Day 1 chip leader Seth Davies in heads-up. Malinov claimed his biggest cash on GGPoker so far and parlayed a $2,500 satellite entry into a score of $661,743. That increases his overall cashes on the fastest-growing poker site to nearly $2.4 million.

Runner-up Davies had to settle for a consolation prize worth $503,914 while Germany's "REPTAR" turned the second-shortest stack at the start of the final table in a third-place finish for $383,728. Among the finalists were also the online high roller regulars Aleksejs Ponakovs, Joao Vieira, Matthias Eibinger, Jason Koon, David Coleman, and Daniel Dvoress.

While Malinov's name may not immediately ring a bell in comparison with most other finalists, he has been a High Roller regular for some time. It was the 21st appearance in a Super MILLION$ event, which usually runs as a $10,300 buy-in during the Super Sunday on GGPoker. Malinov had cashed nine times and reached his fourth final table, which he dominated with sheer relentless aggression including a five-bet jam with seven-six suited.

The action of the Final Day

Daniel Dvoress was the shortest stack by some margin and became the first casualty when the ace-king suited of Malinov rivered the nut flush against pocket fives. David Coleman was gone next when his dominated ace-four ended up second-best against the ace-ten of Joao Vieira.

It was a period in which Malinov turned up the heat and "REPTAR" earned two doubles. One of those left Jason Koon short, who then lost ace-queen once more for the last few chips against a three-betting Malinov with jack-five suited. Half an hour later, "REPTAR" went on a heater to eliminate Matthias Eibinger and Vieira within a few hands to take over the lead.

Malinov struck back and gained the lead with his aggressive style and Aleksejs Ponakovs fell victim to the streak of Malinov. The Russian flopped top pair and a gutshot in three-way action to prevail with a superior straught and bust Ponakovs in fourth. Several double-ups in three-handed action followed until "REPTAR" jammed ace-queen into the kings of Seth Davies. One queen was not enough for the German and heads-up started almost even in chips.

Malinov left little doubt over the role of table captain and cut Davies' stack short. The American pro gained traction once more only to jam a dominated ace-nine into ace-king suited. Both kickers hit and Malinov was crowned as the champion.

Davies and all other high-stakes regulars can be the next winner of a Super MILLION$ Week event in the days to come, as the festival continues until March 7 with daily High Roller tournaments.
