Kitai Doubles Watson

Nível 40 : 150,000/300,000, 35,000 ante

Michael Watson jammed his short stack of less than two big blinds with {a-Spades}{2-Clubs} and was called by Davidi Kitai with {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

Both players paired the {2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} board. Watson's pair was better to win the pot and double up.

Parssinen Leaves Watson Short on Chips

Nível 40 : 150,000/300,000, 35,000 ante

Eelis Parsinnen jammed for 5.1 million from the small blind with {q-Spades}{j-Spades} and was called by Michael Watson in the big blind with {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

The {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} ran out on the board and Parssinen doubled up with top pair.

Meanwhile, Watson was down to under two big blinds after the hand.

Aleks Ponakovs Eliminated in 8th Place ($194,482)

Nível 40 : 150,000/300,000, 35,000 ante

Two players were eliminated in the first four hands with Aleks Ponakovs just hitting the rail in eighth place for $194,482.

Ponakovs jammed his short stack of less than eight big blinds from the small blind with {a-Spades}{6-Spades} and couldn't hold against the {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} Eelis Parssinen held in the big blind after the {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs} ran out on the board.

Sergei "iplaytooslow" Denisov Eliminated in 9th Place ($161,097)

Nível 40 : 150,000/300,000, 35,000 ante

Sergei "iplaytooslow" Denisov hit the rail on the very first hand of play on a bad beat.

The action folded around to Niklas Astedt in the small blind who shoved his stack. Denislov made the call and players turned over their cards.

Sergei "iplaytooslow" Denisov: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Niklas Astedt: {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

Denislov had an edge on the hand and appeared set to double after the {7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop was a safe one for him.

The poker gods had something else in mind with the {2-Spades} landing on the turn to pair up Astedt.

Astedt then improved to two-pair after the {a-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Denislov was ousted in ninth place for $161,097.

Meanwhile, Astedt became the new chip leader the first hand at the final table.

David Yan Leads the Way

David Yan enters the final table as the table captain with a chip leading stack of 10.9 million in chips. That being said, it is anyone's game, especially considering how closely bunched the top of the leaderboard is with poker legends Davidi Kitai and Niklas Astedt on his tail.

Yan was the only player besides Andrii "Brahman33" Novak to qualify to the Main Event via satellites to advance to the final table. That didn't stop either player to re-enter after losing all their chips with Yan firing three bullets before catapulting into the chip lead and Novak, who enters the final table in fourth place, firing two bullets.

One big story to follow is whether Eelis Parssinen can push his eighth place stack into a podium finish. Last week, Parssinen was runner-up in the $3 million guaranteed HRW 02: $10,300 Super MILLION$ for a massive $472,222 payday.

Aleksei "JokerFace" Barkov, who enters the action in sixth place, is also another big story as this was his first appearance in a Super MILLION$ event. Barkov ran up his second bullet into the chip lead and was near the top of the leaderboard throughout the second half of Day 1.

Other big names at the final table include Michael Watson, Aleksei "JokerFace" Barkov, Sergei "iplaytooslow" Denisov, and Aleks Ponakovs.
