Now there's something you don't see very other day. Well, technically we didn't see it, but EPT London winner Ruben Visser was kind enough to fill us in on the details about how he acquired such a big stack by telling the story about him hitting a straight flush.
Visser told us that someone in front of him had opened for 700 and Visser had called with on the button. The big blind came along for the ride and checked to the initial raiser on . The pre flop aggressor bet out 1,200 and both Visser and the big blind called.
All three of them checked on the turn, so the river was seen by the three of them on a discount. The big blind lead out for 2,400 and the initial raiser made the call. Visser raised it up to 7,900 and found his customer in the big blind who made the call. Visser showed his straight flush and his opponent mucked.

Jakob Karlsson defended his small blind against a raise and then check-called a bet of 700 on the flop. After the turn, the Swede check-raised from 1,100 to 3,500 and his opponent threw in 5,500. Kevin MacPhee pointed out that the reraise had to be at least 5,900 and that was taken care of, Karlsson called the extra chips.
After the river, Karlsson check-raised again and his opponent forfeited his bet of 9,000, throwing his cards into the muck.

After a raise to 650 by Marco Levato, Nicolas Cardyn three-bet to 2,100 out of the small blind and Chino Rheem as well as the Italian both called. On the flop, Cardyn led for 3,200 and Rheem folded, Levato called. The same story repeated itself after the turn for 6,700 and again the Italian tossed in the chips.
Both then checked the river and Cardyn won the pot with for two pair. Rheem went on to win a nice pot the hand after and they are both up in chips.

We arrived at the table with the board showing .
Andrea Cortellazzi checked his option from the big blind before Micah Raskin led out for 2,000 from the hijack. Cortellazzi then raised it up to 4,900 and was called moments later.
The completed the board and Cortellazzi reached for his chips.
“Easy,” warned Raskin, as he watched his opponents slide out 7,300 in chips.
“Wow! What is that,” he added as the dealer confirmed the amount.
Raskin looked noticeably frustrated, clutching at his chips as he stared down the community cards.
He eventually made the call before Cortellazzi tabled his for king-high.
“King-high,” asked Raskin. “I can beat that,” he added, before rolling over his for top pair.

Remko Rinkema and Max Silver face off in a Christmas sweater battle for the ages!
Ludovic Geilich opened the action and picked up one caller in Vanessa Selbst who was in the small blind.
The flop was and Selbst led out for 600. Geilich raised to 1,775 and Selbst gave it some thought before calling.
The turn card was the and this time Selbst check-called a bet of 3,675 from Geilich. The river card was the and again Selbst checked.
Geilich cut out a big bet of 19,275. Selbst spent some time counting her stack and sorting out her chips before going for a check-raise of around 65,000 which was most of Geilich’s stack.
Geilich flicked in a chip to call and Selbst turned over .
“That’s the best hand.” Geilich said. “Absolute cooler. That’s the only hand you can raise me with.” Geilich’s hand was tossed in the air to the muck, the briefly glimpsed to reveal just what a cooler it was.
Selbst won a huge pot with that river card while Geilich, who had been cruising, was left crippled.

We missed the action but both Mick Graydon and Joseph Cheong committed all their chips in pre flop.

Cheong:
Cheong was covered by the smallest of amounts but was ahead with the over pair. The board ran out to see him double to 105,000 in chips leaving Graydon with only 875 chips behind.
