Dia 1b Começado
The first starting day of the €5,000 + €300 EPT Prague Main Event attracted a total of 342 entries and 201 players would bag up chips to advance to Day 2 of the PokerStars flagship event. With the record being set at 1,007 entries from last year, at least another 666 would be needed to set another record at the incredibly busy EPT Prague Poker Festival. Eight levels of 75 minutes each will be played with a 20 minute break every two levels, at the end of level six there is a 75-minute dinner break. Last night, Dmitry Ponomarev bagged up 158,900 chips for the overall lead.
Among the pre-registered players for Day 1b are Gerald Karlic, Vasili Firsau, Martin Mulsow, World Series of Poker Bracelet winner Nikolaus Teichert, Joseph Cheong, Sam Cohen and the Team PokerStars Pros Vanessa Selbst and Jan Heitmann. Many other well known Pros are expected to join the action today after getting involved in the Side Events yesterday such as Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov, Shyam Srinivasan, Jason Wheeler and Benjamin Pollak who all made a deep run in the €2,000 Eureka High Roller.
All EPT and Eureka players and media are also invited for the exclusive players party in Hilton Prague’s spectacular Cloud 9 skybar. Everyone will get two drinks vouchers for wine, beer or mixed drinks. The party starts at 9pm and will run until the bar closes at 2am.

At the start of the day there were players seated at table 79 and 80, but there were no dealers yet. When the shuffle up and deal had sounded there were no cards and chips flying in the air at those tables.
PCA 2010 winner Harrison Gimbel walked around asking someone from the floor staff what was going on. He was told the dealers would be there within minutes. While Gimbel and one other player outed their concerns with the situation, the dealers walked up with chips and cards in hand.
They missed maybe a minute of play tops, and someone laughed "I'm usually out by now!" Stephen Chidwick was one table over also on a table where no dealer was yet to be found. Last nights Super High Roller third place finisher didn't seem concerned though, he was just browsing on his iPad before a dealer reached his table as well.

Walking past the tables to get a list of notables, one in particular with Glen Cymbaluk on it caught our attention. The Canadian cashed in the Main Event here in Prague two years ago and there was just a bigger pot going on between Baden Logan and Dmitry Nemirovsky. On the turn, there were 5,225 chips in the pot in a battle of the blinds and Nemirovsky check-called a bet of 5,000.
After the river had completed the board, the Russian checked again and Logan fired 12,000 chips. Nemirovsky gave it some consideration but called and turned over for trips nines. Logan was caught with a six-high bluff as he returned .

We arrived at the table just as Brian Kim raised it up to 300 from the cut off. He was called by Christian Harder on the button before Jeff Madsen bumped it up to 1,100 from the small blind. With the decision back on Kim he four-bet to 2,800 as Harder got out of the way.
Madsen paused for a moment before reaching for his chips and splashing out another raise to 6,500. Kim was having none of it, announcing all in for just short of his starting stack. Madsen went into the tank for over a minute before finally releasing his hand.
