Bet Size Announcement Ruling
The table was called to Gerardo Gomez’s table where the final board showed

Gomez claimed he had said, “Three thousand.” before betting but other players corroborated the fact that he had just said, “Three.” After an initial ruling from the floor that the bet was 5,000 only added to the confusion, clarification was sought. Tom Hall wanted further clarification as he felt the bet didn’t make sense given the pot size and the tournament director arrived to confirm the ruling. It is never based on the size of the pot. If there is ever any ambiguity about the size of the bet it is a common TD rule to always take the lowest number.
