No-Outer Bull

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Former UKIPT winner Robbie Bull had a bad start early on but has just doubled up through William Chattaway. On the turn of a {4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Spades} board, Bull had bet 3,100 but found himself being min-raised to 6,200.

Bull tanked for several minutes before finally moving all in for 10,125 and Chattaway was reluctantly forced to call the rest.

Bull: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Chattaway: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Bull doubled back up over his starting stack.

Wrang Up Big Despite Losing One

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Former EPT Campione winner Jannick Wrang's off to a nice start but he just caught him losing a small pot.

On a {5-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs} flop both Wrang and his opponent checked after which the turn was the {6-Spades}. Wrang's opponent lead out for 675 and the Dane called.

The river was the {J-Clubs} and Wrang bet 1,600 after the action was checked to him. After a short bit his opponent called and Wrang showed {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. This was no-good against {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Wrang lost a small pot while still sitting on 51,000 chips.

Silver Folds River to Vulliet

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

The flop read {Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs} when we found three players including Max Silver and Simeone Vulliet engaged in the hand. An early positioned player checked over to Silver in the cutoff who led for 600. The player on the button pushed out a raise to 1,450, eliciting an immediate fold from the early positioned player. Silver, on the other hand, flatted to see the turn.

The {J-Hearts} came on fourth street and Silver checked. Vulliet continued his aggression with a bet of 2,600 and Silver stayed the course. The duo watched as the {6-Hearts} finished off the community cards and Silver checked his action for a final time. Vulliet fired 3,500, Silver folded, and Vulliet took down the pot.

Best to Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Jack Ellwood, hasn't had the best of starts.

"I had a lot of trouble sleeping last night so I thought missing the first level to get an extra hour would be +ev for me. I sat down and I immediately lost 10k in the second hand. I should've slept-in for another five minutes..."

Mikhaylets' Mistake and De Zutter's Angle

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
TD Luca Vivaldi makes a ruling

Valeriy Mikhaylets just made an honest mistake versus Tino de Zutter from Belgium, but it quickly spun out of control to create some controverse early on Day 1a.

The board read {2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts} when Mikhaylets bet 3,000 using two red and two purple worth 500 each. The action was then on De Zutter who raised it up to 7,000, but his blue 5,000 chip was hidden on the bottom of the bet.

Mikhaylets assumed his opponent had made the call and he tabled his hand, {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, as he had the nut flush.

When the dealer noticed that De Zutter had put in a raise a member of the floor staff was called over.

"It's a fold, he mucked his cards," De Zutter strongly stated, as he was trying to gain as much from this situation as possible.

De Zutter became more and more wound up as the floor staff explained the ruling, but he wasn't willing to accept the following: When a player tables his cards with action pending he will receive a one-round penalty at the completion of the hand, but he'll still be able to make a decision on the current hand.

"That's just not right! He mucked his cards," De Zutter yelled, as he called for a second opinion.

A second opinion was given to De Zutter, which was identical, but he remained angry and in disbelief.

"He did not muck his cards, he tabled them," the floor staff explained.

Mikhaylets, who spoke very little English, kept pointing out why he had made the mistake, as the blue chip was hidden on the bottom. The Russian player also tried to point out that he had the nuts, so he would never table his hand if he had seen that his opponent had put out a raise.

Eventually Mikhaylets made the call, which got players to joke that he should receive two penalties, an additional one for calling with the nuts, while De Zutter sat motionless without mucking his cards.

"Sir," the floor staff firmly said, "This is a showdown and if you are not going to table or muck your cards you will receive a penalty for holding up the game."

Eventually De Zutter tabled {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a lower flush and Mikhaylets took down this pot. With help from other Russian players at the table it was explained to Mikhaylets that he would be on a one-round penalty, and quietly he left the table to take a little break.

Small Hit to Katchalov

Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov

Christopher Ulsrud put out a raise to 400 only to have Eugene Katchalov three-bet to 1,400 from late position. Action folded back around to Ulsrud and he called. The flop came down {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and action checked back to Katchalov who continued for 1,200. Ulsrud stuck around and the board paired on the turn with the {7-Diamonds}.

Both players checked the turn and the {3-Spades} on the river put two pair on the board. Ulsrud tapped the table for a third time and Katchalov followed suit, mucking his cards after seeing Ulsrud's {A-Diamonds}{k-Spades} for ace-high. Ulsrud was pushed the pot, bringing his stack up to about 33,500. The PokerStars Team Pro, on the other hand, has fallen to 24,500.
