The First €25,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller is Set to Kick Off

Arc de Triomphe - EPT Paris
Arc de Triomphe - EPT Paris

With the 2023 PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris now in full swing, it is time for the first of the €25,000 No-Limit Hold'em single-day high rollers to get underway. Many of the world's best poker players have made their way to the French Capital and have gathered inside the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile to compete for millions of euros over the next 10 days.

These single-day high rollers have become a staple event on the EPT for those players wishing to compete at a higher buy-in level and battle for six or seven-figure paydays. There will be a total of three events at this buy-in level over the course of the festival along with the €50,000 EPT Super High Roller that will begin in just a couple of days.

Some of the most notable players that have already been seen at the 2023 EPT Paris include the Canadian contingent of Timothy Adams, Sam Greenwood, Daniel Dvoress, and Mike Watson. They will also be joined by the likes of PokerStars ambassador Sam Grafton, Ben Heath, Orpen Kisacikoglu, and Americans Chris Brewer and Seth Davies just to name a few.

The action is slated to get underway at 12:30 p.m. local time with all players in their seats at the start of play receiving half of the registration fee returned. A starting stack will be worth 100,000 chips with the blinds starting at 500/1,000 and a 1,000 big blind ante. The levels will be 30 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every three or four levels.

Late registration for this event will remain open until the start of Level 11 which is after the dinner break at approximately 7:00 p.m. There is often an unlimited number of entries for these events but due to French regulations, only a single re-entry will be permitted. A shot clock will be enforced in this tournament with 20 seconds being granted preflop while registration is still open. All further streets will be given 30 seconds to complete any action.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live updates throughout the event en route to crowning a winner later this evening.
