Joao Vieira held the chip lead for a brief moment earlier today when he was approaching the seven-figure mark. However, after losing a couple of pots, he was forced to start rebuilding. Vieira raised to 20,000 in the cutoff and was called by Paul Newey in the big blind.
The flop came J♠J♦6♥ and Newey check-called a bet of 15,000 from Vieira. The turn was the K♦ and Newey checked again. Vieira tossed in another bet of 30,000 and Newey sent his cards to the muck.
On the next hand, Vieira raised to 20,000 again but couldn't find action in the process.
