Iakobishvili Running Good in Flops
Heads-up on a flop of 2♣2♥8♥, Aleksejs Ponakovs bet 17,000 from the big blind and Gha Iakobishvili called on the button.
"I won 12," Iakobishvili called over to Albert Daher as they headed to the 8♦ turn.
"You won five," Daher yelled back as his own flop contained two red cards. "I don't know when I'm going to win."
Both Iakobishvili and Ponakovs checked to the 10♥ river, where Ponakovs won the pot with a bet of 20,000.
"You're going to win first place, don't worry. But you're going to lose all the money in flips," Iakobishvili told Daher.
Daniel Rezaei then bet 8,000 on a flop of 3♥8♦Q♦ and Iakobishvili called on the button. Both players checked the 7♥ turn.
The river came the 2♥ and Iakobishvili bet 25,000. "It's hard for you to have two red cards," Rezaei said as he tossed in a call.
"I have jack-eight," Iakobishvili said, showing J♠8♣ as Rezaei mucked.
