PokerStars Ambassador Ramon Colillas is currently second in the standings, and when he returns, he will be sitting directly to the right of Hvam. The Spaniard is looking to secure the second-biggest cash of his career after his 2019 victory in the $25k PokerStars Players Championship.

Bracelet winner Hugo Pingray is the only other player coming into the day with over 3 million chips, while two other bracelet winners are also still in the field with Niall Farrell and Justin Saliba. They begin the day as the short stacks, but will still have plenty of room to make a run as the shortest stack is still good for over 25 big blinds when the day begins.

Two PokerStars online qualifiers, Erkan Soenmez and Jussi Nevanlinna, are also still alive and have a shot at the glory, while Hungarian Ferenc Deak, Brazilian Marcelo Simoes, Finn Jussi Nevanlinna, Frenchman Yannick Cardot and American Jaime Cervantes are among the players in the middle of the pack in this flagship event of the series which has seen players from all around the world come out to compete.

Yaghmai Wins Small Pot; Soenmez Jams Into Saliba

Nível 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Nariman Yaghmai raised to 55,000 and Francky Magliocco defended the big blind to see the {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop. Magliocco checked and Yaghmai bet 75,000 to win the pot.

One hand later, Erkan Soenmez raised to 50,000 in the cutoff and Justin Saliba three-bet to 115,000 on the button for Soenmez to call. On the {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop, Soenmez led for 60,000 to receive a call and the same procedure repeated on the {6-Hearts} turn for another 130,000.

The {9-Hearts} river completed the board and Soenmez moved all-in to force a fold from Saliba, who dropped near the bottom of the leaderboard once more.

Hvam Chips Up to 5 Million

Nível 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Morten Hvam

Over on the streamed featured table, Ramon Colillas opened to 55,000 from the hijack with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, Morten Hvam three-bet to 165,000 in the cutoff with {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, and Ferenc Deak cold four-bet to 420,000 in the big blind with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. Colillas sent his ladies into the muck and Hvam called.

The dealer spread the {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop and Deak led for 185,000. Hvan called.

The apparent case queen fell on the {q-Hearts} turn which would've given Colillas a set, and Deak led for 500,000. Hvan called again, and both players checked the {4-Diamonds} river.

Hvan claimed the pot with his pair of kings and extended his chip lead as he chipped up to the 5 million mark.

The {4-Clubs} completed the board, Yaghmai checked, and Soenmez bet 85,000. Yaghmai raised to 250,000, and Soenmez sent his cards into the muck to concede the pot.

Alejandro Romero
Alejandro Romero

On the outer table, Alejandro Romero raised to 65,000 from an early position and was called by Francky Magliocco in the big blind. They headed to the {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} flop on which Magliocco opted for a check-raise from 75,000 to 225,000 and Romero called.

Magliocco bet the {3-Diamonds} turn for 100,000 and Romero called after some ten seconds. The {k-Spades} river completed the board and Magliocco used one time bank before betting 300,000. Romero snap-called and was shown the {9-Spades}{3-Spades} for a flush, which he had beat with the {j-Spades}{10-Spades}.
