The 2022 PokerStars and Barcelona©Casino European Poker Tour continued today with Day 2 of the €3,000 Mystery Bounty Championship. 12 levels were played today, and it was quite apparent early on that bounties were in play, as players were risking it all to claim bounty slips. This was especially so after the bounty pool was announced and a staggering €250,000 bounty was revealed. The lucky player that went home with that grand prize was Johann Zeitoun.

"I was telling my friends that if I got a bounty I would go directly to the desk," he told PokerNews. "I'm really happy. I play lots of tournaments, but now I'm really happy."

Meanwhile, Yamato Nakai was the lucky recipient of the Platinum Pass to the PokerStars Players Championship in 2023. An ecstatic Nakai was grinning from ear to ear as EPT Tournament Director Toby Stone presented him with his prize.

The Red Spade Pass winner was Anders Wessman from Sweden. Wessman has one career cash from the 2019 World Series of Poker and will now be heading to Brazil for an exclusive Formula 1 experience.

As was mentioned before, there was big action today as players were eager to knock out players as well as ladder up through the tournament. Manuel Fischer was the first player to break the one million mark just before dinner break and stayed at the top of the leaderboards all day. But towards the evening, it was Anthony Miles that surged ahead after taking down several huge pots consecutively, several of which were over 1,000,000 in size.

There were several big names out in the field today that didn't make it to bag, including Steve O'Dwyer, Olga Iermolcheva, Robert Mizrachi, David Kitai, Damian Salas, and Yuliyan Kolev. Martin Jacobson also made a deep run and ended up finishing in 31st place.

Players will return tomorrow at 12:00 Noon and will follow the same 40-minute level format for Day 3, playing down to a winner with a 15-minute break every three levels, beginning at Level 28 with 25000/50000/50000.

Keep yourself in the know with PokerNews for all the latest from the Main Event, the final day of the €3,000 Mystery Bounty Championship, and the rest of the action here at EPT Barcelona!

"Give Me My Bounty!" Saade Boats Up on the River to Crack Monnier's Straight

Nível 27 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Eddie Saade
Eddie Saade

Eddie Saade opened for 85,000 and Lucas Monnier went all in for 330,000. Saade went into the tank and eventually made the call.

Lucas Monnier: {a-}{10-}
Eddie Saade: {q-}{j-}

Monnier had the best of it before the {q-}{j-}{7-} flop came, giving Saade top-two pair. However, Monnier still had a straight draw, which prompted Saade to shout "MIss the king!"

Sure enough, a {k-} came on the turn, putting Monnier way out in front and Saade was drawing to a full house.

Saade exclaimed "Queen on the river!" just before a {q-} appeared, prompting the entire table to collectively stand up and shout while Monnier had to collect his things and head to the exit.

"Give me my bounty!"

Miles Takes Another Big One

Nível 27 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Anthony Miles
Anthony Miles

The board was completed with {10-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and there was a huge pot of almost 1,000,000 when Paulo Roberto Brombim checked his action over to Anthony Miles, who then shoved it all in.

Brombim then went deep into the tank for this one, as Miles vastly covered him, and his tournament life was at stake. After a good two minutes, he finally decided on a fold, and Miles was shipped the huge pot, boosting him into the chip lead.

Jacobson Eliminated, New Chip Leader Emerges

Nível 26 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Action was caught as Martin Jacobson was all in for around 300,000 against Jeferson Pinow.

Martin Jacobson: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Jeferson Pinow: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Although Jacobson was in phenomenal shape to double up, the flop came {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} to put the Brazilian out in front.

The {3-Hearts} arrived on the turn and Jacobson would need a non-heart king in order to stay alive.

The {k-Hearts} completed the board and Jacobson was eliminated as his pair of kings were beaten by Pinow's flush.

Meanwhile, over on Table 3, Anthony Miles has quickly become the new chip leader of the tournament and is currently on about 4,000,000.

Miles Shoves into the Nuts,

Nível 25 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Johannes van Bemmel
Johannes van Bemmel

On a completed board of {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, Anthony Miles shoved all in, covering his opponent, Johannes van Bemmel.

Van Bemmel wasted no time and slammed his calling chips into the middle, and MIles sheepishly flipped over his {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a pair of sixes while Van Bemmel slapped down his {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} for a turned nut straight.

Van Bemmel was shipped the pot and is now sitting at 1,300,000 while Miles was left hovering around 1,000,000.

Jacobson Stays Alive, Hits Flush on River to Double Up

Nível 25 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

After taking a huge hit to his stack a couple of hands earlier, Martin Jacobson went all in for his final 260,000 from the button and Cedric Weinberg called from the big blind.

Martin Jacobson: {k-Spades}{5-Spades}
Cedric Weinberg: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Weinberg was completely dominating Jacobson but it was all up for grabs following the {6-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Spades} flop, which gave Jacobson both a flush draw and a backdoor straight draw against Weinberg's pair of jacks.

The {k-Diamonds} meant Jacobson needed a spade and a spade alone to stay in the hunt.

The river was the {3-Spades}, doubling him up back to 555,000.

Yuliyan Kolev
Yuliyan Kolev

Action was caught with Lourenco Fernandes all in against Yuliyan Kolev, with Kolev at risk for around 360,000.

Yuliyan Kolev: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Lourenco Fernandes: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Fernandes jumped out in front on the {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Clubs} flop and Kolev would need help to stay in the tournament.

The {3-Hearts} turn meant Kolev was drawing to just two outs.

The {7-Diamonds} completed the board and Fernandes would chip up to around 825,000, seemingly having done so with ace-king recently as the table lauded his success with the hand.

Paulo Roberto Brombim

Paulo Roberto Brombim opened under the gun and Arnaud Enselme raised to nearly all in from the button with a pay jump looming. Brombim went over the top and Enselme called quickly after realizing he was still two places from a potential ladder.

Arnaud Enselme: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Paulo Roberto Brombim: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Enselme was dominated and would not improve as the board ran out {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Enselme would have to settle for 57th place for €5,260.

Nível 22 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

Parker "Tonkaaaa" Talbot got it all in for 171,000 and was called by Roelof Pepping, with Talbot at risk of elimination.

Parker Talbot: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Roelof Pepping: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Although he was in rough shape, the {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} board on the turn gave Pepping some hope with a flush draw, but the {j-Spades} river did not do it and Talbot secured the double up.

Pepping was left with only 38,000 and busted a few hands later.
