The 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague kicked off yesterday at Hilton Prague and continues today with the first two starting flights of the €1,100 Eureka Main Event. Day 1a will commence at noon local time while Day 1b will later play out at 6 p.m.

The four-day event at the luxurious Eastern Europe casino will see players starting with a stack of 30,000 and blinds of 100/100/100 with levels lasting 40 minutes in duration, though levels will increase to 60 minutes beginning with Level 17.

The tournament has 25-minute breaks scheduled every three levels and there will be a 75-minute dinner break after Level 10. All flights will play until 15% of the field remains and all players will be in the money on Day 2 on Dec. 10.

Earlier this year, it was none other than PokerStars ambassador Alejandro Lococo who took down the €1,100 Eureka Main Event for €417,820. That event drew 3,155 entrants and generated a prize pool of €3,028,800.

Early Boat for Oeyre

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Peder Oeyre was in position in a heads-up pot against 2009 EPT Copenhagen runner-up Peter Hedlund on a flop of {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Hedlund checked on the flop and Oeyre bet 200. Hedlund called.

Hedlund checked again on the {q-Spades} turn and Oeyre sized up to 700. Hedlund again called. The river brought the {k-Hearts} and Hedlund checked as he stared down his opponent. Oeyre glanced at his cards and then bet 2,500.

Hedlund put out 1,500 for a call, not realizing that it was 1,000 more to call, and then mucked when Oeyre tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for a full house.

"I wouldn't have called 2.5k," Hedlund said. "I should have raised and gotten the info and folded."

He then followed up after second thought: "I prolly would've called 2.5k anyway."

Stumpf Stumps Markovic with Better Kicker

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

There was a three-way pot at Table 25 between Marco Markovic, John Mooney and Frank Stumpf with action being picked up on the flop of {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Markovic and Mooney both checked on the flop and Stumpf fired for 2,100. Both opponents called. Markovic and Mooney checked again on the {4-Hearts} turn and Stumpf sized up to 4,200. Only Markovic called.

Markovic checked a third time on the {5-Spades} river and Stumpf checked back. Markovic showed {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for top pair, but he found himself outkicked by the {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} of his German opponent.

"Same hand," Mooney told Markovic about what he folded on the turn.
