Marton Czuczor
Marton Czuczor

Nicolas Vayssieres opened to 65,000 under the gun, Roman Hrabec flatted the small blind, and Marton Czuczor raised to 665,000 in the big blind with only 5,000 behind. Vayssieres used a time bank and folded, while Hrabec moved all in. Czuczor called for his last chip.

Marton Czuczor: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Roman Hrabec: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop gave Hrabec a set, although Czuczor was still alive and in need of a heart. The {3-Clubs} turn changed nothing, however, and the {4-Clubs} river confirmed the result to eliminate Czuczor.

The two-time EPT runner-up won't get another shot at victory this time as he made his exit in 16th place for £29,800.

Ben Heath Eliminated in 15th Place (£34,250)

Ben Heath
Ben Heath

Ben Heath opened to 60,000 from the cutoff and Alexandre Vuilleumier min-click three-bet to 120,000 from the big blind. Heath called.

The flop landed {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Vuilleumier continued for 75,000 Heath called. The turn brought the {j-Spades} and Vuilleumier sized up to 220,000. Heath used through a time extension before moving all in for around 550,000. Vuilleumier snap-called with a bigger stack.

Ben Heath: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Alexandre Vuilleumier: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Heath had flopped a set but Vuilleumier had plenty of hope with a flush draw.

"I wanted to make it 4x preflop," Vuilleumier said after seeing he let his opponent get there.

Nonetheless, the {8-Hearts} arrived on the river to make Vuilleumier his flush to eliminate Heath in 15th place for £34,250.

Seidel Doubles Through Kanji

Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Erik Seidel moved all in for 375,000 on the button and Aleem Kanji called in the big blind.

Erik Seidel: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Aleem Kanji: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Seidel was in a dominating position as the dealer spread the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop. The {9-Spades} turn left Seidel just needing to fade a ten, and the {6-Clubs} completed the board to secure his double.

Sergio Coutinho Eliminated in 14th Place (£34,250)

Nível 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Sergio Coutinho
Sergio Coutinho

A wild and lengthy hand took place on the outer table when Alexandre Vuilleumier opened to 65,000 in middle position and Sergio Coutinho three-bet to around 150,000 with just a single chip behind.

Benjamin Pollak then cold four-bet to around 500,000 from the big blind and Vuilleumier five-bet jammed with both opponents covered. Despite being heavily pot-committed, Coutinho tossed out several time banks as he eyed a pay jump and went deep into the tank.

"Sorry about your arms," Coutinho told a TV crew member holding a boom mic above the table.

Coutinho eventually called and Pollak quickly followed suit.

Sergio Coutinho: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Benjamin Pollak: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Alexandre Vuilleumier: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Pollak and Vuilleumier both had aces and chopped up their Portuguese opponent as the board ran out {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs} to mark his elimination in 14th place for £34,250.

"A lot of drama," Vuilleumier laughed as he and Pollak chopped the small pot.

Nils Pudel
Nils Pudel

Blind on blind, Nils Pudel check-called 85,000 from Ian Hamilton on the {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop and then check-called 175,000 on the {3-Spades} turn.

The river was the {7-Diamonds} and Pudel checked. Hamilton bet 325,000 and Pudel called.

Hamilton showed {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a flopped two pair but lost out to the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} of Pudel who had turned a better two pair.

Tournament Ruling with 13 Players Remaining

Nível 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

After a lengthy discussion involving all 13 players remaining in the EPT London Main Event, a tournament ruling was agreed for the remainder of play.

There has been a spate of incidents where a player has done a "virtual all-in" whereby they moved all but a a single chip all in. This is done in order to gain extra time to potentially ladder if a player at the other table were to be eliminated.

The ruling that was agreed is as follows:

  • If a player goes "virtually all-in" leaving a single big blind or similar amount behind, and subsequently face action in that hand, they will have just minute (one time extension) to act on their hand.
  • Were they to survive with this amount, and continue to tank in hands then a five-second shot clock may be introduced for them.

This rule is solely for the remainder of the Main Event.

Roman Hrabec shoved blind on blind with Nicolas Vayssieres calling in the big blind for his last 535,000.

Nicolas Vayssieres: {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Roman Hrabec: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Vayssieres was a 70% favorite to win the hand and double up and the {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop gave him top pair. The turn was a {10-Hearts} giving Hrabec a pair and the {k-Hearts} improved him further to a straight and Vayssieres was eliminated.

Roman Hrabec opened to 80,000 from early position and David Docherty three-bet to 235,000 from the button.

Hrabec then four-bet to 475,000 and Docherty called.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Hrabec continued for 275,000. Docherty called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and Hrabec bet 350,000. Again, Docherty called.

With the pot up to 2,300,000 the {9-Diamonds} completed the board. Hrabec bet 375,000 and Docherty played five time extensions before ultimately folding as Hrabec moved up over 5,000,000 in chips

Seidel ran right into the rockets and the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop changed nothing. The {2-Clubs} turn left Seidel needing a two-outer seven to survive, but the {8-Clubs} completed the board and the poker legend's deepest EPT Main Event run came to an end in 12th place for £41,100.
