Welcome to Day 1a of the €1,100 Eureka Main Event at the European Poker Tour Prague festival. Cards go in the air at 12 p.m. local time for the first of four opening flights at King's Casino Prague.

The EPT Prague series kicks off after originally being scheduled to take place in December of 2021. The Spring restart of the festival will continue through March 16, offering 57 events and culminating with the €10,300 Main Event.

Semen Kravets won the €1,100 EPT National opener at the last EPT Prague series in 2019. Kravets outlasted a field of 2,452 to defeat Jussi Mattila heads-up to win €247,978. A big field is expected to turn out for the return of the EPT to Prague after a two year hiatus.

Players in the €1,100 Eureka Main Event will start with 30,000 in chips and play 40 minute levels. One reentry is available for each player and registration will continue through Level 10. Day 1a will continue until 15% of the field remains and surviving players will return on Monday at 12 p.m. for Day 2.

Keep it with the PokerNews team for live updates from all four opening flights, as well as other marquee events and high rollers throughout the festival at EPT Prague.

Cotturri Flushes for a Near Triple

With around 5,000 in the original pot and {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts} on the board, floor staff was in the process of resolving the hand after a three-way all in.

Vincenzo Cotturri had {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} tabled for the flush while Oleg Bessaev was showing {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Carmen Zainescu had mucked the losing hand and was out of the tournament. Bessaev had called Cotturri's shove, but there was some question as to the exact amount that Cotturri would be owed.

It took a moment, but floor staff determined that Cotturri was owed 11,500 from Bessaev, and he dragged a pot to nearly triple his stack early in Day 1a action.
