The €25,000 Single-Day High Roller of the 2021 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague has come to an end after a full day of play. Some 35 entries generated a prizepool of €840,350 which was split up amongst the top six finishers.

Finishing on top of all entries at the end of the late-night was Teun Mulder of the Netherlands who captured his first EPT Spadie trophy and the top prize of €250,928 after an ICM heads up deal with runner-up Juan Pardo who was barely denied his fourth EPT title.

* ICM Deal of Final Two Players

This victory is the best live poker score of Mulder’s career thus far as he adds a nice chunk to his career winnings to edge above $800,000 in total. Mulder started to gain the chip lead midway through the day and became a real factor heading into the final table as the largest stack.

The day began three hours later than was scheduled as play started around 3:30 p.m local time with ten entries. The field would steadily grow with new faces and re-entries as the day wore on.

Among those entries were Tony G and Leon Tsoukernik who would both indeed enter the fray at the last possible moment with late registration after the dinner break. But neither one would last very long as they could not spin their stacks up beyond starting and were eliminated quickly.

Action would slow down when the unofficial final table of nine was reached until a double elimination sent Chris Brewer and Sirzat Hissou both out the door on the same hand by Mulder. The money bubble would be breached shortly after that when Thoms Muehloecker was also dismissed by Mulder to bring the field down to the final six who would be paid.

Nick Petrangelo was the first elimination within the money when he went out in sixth place after a lengthy segment of six-handed play and then the long short-stacked Ole Schemion followed him out the door in fifth place.

Zhuang Ruan finished in fourth place as Pardo took him out. Leonard Maue then went out in third place after he had had the chip lead at different parts in the middle of the day.

The heads-up battle between Mulder and Pardo would then commence with Pardo holding a 2 to 1 lead to start. Pardo started to pull away in the early stages as he looked to win yet another EPT title. But Mulder would take over the reins in a key hand where he got called with a flush. He would extend the lead from there before Pardo reeled it back slightly before the ICM deal was discussed and agreed upon to wrap things up in the wee hours of the morning after about 13 hours of play.

Juan Pardo Eliminated in 2nd Place (€232,272)

Nível 21 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Juan Pardo
Juan Pardo

The blind flip saw both players agree to expose just one of their cards.

Teun Mulder revealed the {7-Hearts} while Juan Pardo had the dominating {j-Hearts}.

They ran the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop and the {10-Hearts} turn to then leave the river card face down and reveal their second card. Mulder flipped over the {k-Clubs} to take the lead while Pardo was now trailing with the {9-Spades}. Last but not least, the river was also exposed and the Dutch rail had reason to celebrate when the {4-Hearts} river secured the Spadie trophy for Mulder.

A recap of today's action is to follow.

Juan Pardo made it 60,000 to go on the button and Leonard Maue then pushed for what appeared to be 635,000. The initial raiser glanced at the stack size and then quickly called without asking for an exact count.

Leonard Maue: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Juan Pardo: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} board missed both players and Pardo's ace-jack high was enough to deal the final blow. Pardo will enter heads-up with a slight lead over Teun Mulder and both agreed to play for half an hour and see where they get before looking at any possible deal numbers. Maue's run has ended in third place for €126,050.

Juan Pardo raised under the gun, Zhuang Ruan jammed all in for about 365,000. Pardo called.

Zhuang Ruan {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Juan Pardo {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

The board would not help Ruan as it ran out {2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} as he was confirmed as the fourth-place finisher.

Teun Mulder raised to 50,000 from the button, Ole Schemion called in the big blind.

The flop came {j-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Schemion checked and Mulder bet 35,000. Schemion jammed all in and Mulder snap-called.

Mulder had top pair with the {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} while Schemion had the {9-Spades}{5-Spades} for a pair of fives.

The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and the river the {3-Clubs} to end the night for Schemion in fifth place.

Nick Petrangelo Eliminated in 6th Place (€58,830)

Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

Teun Mulder raised the button and Ole Schemion folded the big blind, leaving himself with just 90,000 behind.

"Your turn," he joked to Nick Petrangelo who was going to be in the big blind next. Juan Pardo then raised to 50,000 from under the gun and all opponents folded to Petrangelo, who called all-in blind.

Nick Petrangelo: {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Juan Pardo: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop was bad news for Petrangelo but he paired up on the {6-Hearts} turn. However, the {a-Spades} river improved Pardo and Schemion celebrated the pay jump. For Petrangelo, the tournament ended in 6th place and €58,830.

Muehloecker Eliminated on the Bubble

Nível 16 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Thomas Muehloecker
Thomas Muehloecker

Teun Mulder raised to 32,000 and Thomas Muehloecker defended the big blind with just 27,000 behind, having already invested nearly half of his stack due to the big blind and big blind ante. The flop brought {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Muehloecker called all-in when Mulder splashed in several T-25,000 chips.

Thomas Muehloecker: {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Teun Mulder: {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The {4-Spades} turn provided no help to the Austrian and the {a-Hearts} river only improved Muehloecker to let the bubble burst.

Double Knockout Vaults Pardo Into the Lead

Nível 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Andras Nemeth
Andras Nemeth

Rodrigo Seiji raised to 20,000 from under the gun and Chris Brewer called on the button. Andras Nemeth then jammed on the button and the action was on Juan Pardo in the big blind. However, Seiji sigh-called out of turn already while Pardo was still to act. The Spaniard asked for a count on Nemeth's shove, which happened to be for 303,500 in total.

If Pardo just called, Seiji's all-in was binding whereas he would have been given the option to fold if Pardo had raised despite the call being the biggest effective stack size anyways. Pardo then called and Seiji's 170,000 went into the middle as well.

Rodrigo Seiji: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Andras Nemeth: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Juan Pardo: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop changed nothing yet but Pardo gained the lead on the {a-Spades} turn. Last but not least, the {q-Clubs} followed on the river and that ensured a double knockout for Pardo.

Kabrhel Eliminated by Nemeth

Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel got through with a shove but then had to forfeit the blinds and big blind ante. Back down to 87,000 chips in total and on the button, he raised to 86,000 and left one chip behind. Andras Nemeth in the small blind moved all-in and Kabrhel called it off.

Martin Kabrhel: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Andras Nemeth: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

"What is that for a banana call? I have the nuts, give me the chips already," Kabrhel said with a dead serious voice. The Czech High Roller regular flopped a huge draw on {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} but missed it all on the {2-Spades} turn and {2-Clubs} river runout.

Action was picked up on the flop as the board read {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}. From the hijack, Leon Tsoukernik bet 30,000. From early position, Leonard Maue looked at his opponent's stack and moved all in, Tsoukernik snap called.

Maue had the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} while Tsoukernik had the {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and the river came the {6-Hearts} to confirm the bust out and bring the field to two tables left.
