Welcome To Day 2 of the 2019 PokerStars EPT Prague €1,100 EPT National

Gediminas Uselis
Gediminas Uselis

Day 2 of the 2019 PokerStars EPT Prague €1,100 EPT National is set to get underway shortly, marking the first time the tournament field will play together under one roof inside the Hilton Prague. Three starting flights generated 2,452 entries over the last two days, and the number returning players for Day 2 has been culled to 367.

All of those 367 returning players advanced after playing down to 15 percent of their respective fields, and will officially be in the money when play resumes as a result. Day 1c chip leader Pierre Calamusa (900,000) enters the day with four-and-a-half times the average stack of roughly 200,000, with Day 1b chip leader Gediminas Uselis (768,000) next in the counts. Gabriele Guerrini (702,000), Dan Serban Borlan (682,000), and Paul van Oort (629,000) round out the top five.

However, plenty of strong competitors remain in the field. Day 1a chip leader Andrew Hulme (551,000), Viktor Blom (460,000), Jose Quintas (432,000), Rifat Palevic (322,000), and Anatolii Zyrin (238,000) are just a few above-average stacks with their sights still set on more as the day looks to progress through the 10-plus levels on today's schedule.

Cards will fly at noon local time with play resuming at Day 1a’s stopping point of 4:18 remaining in Level 17 (3,000/6,000/6,000) due to it being the earliest finishing time of the three. Players will enjoy a bump up to 60-minute levels upon the beginning of Level 18 after playing Day 1 flights that lasted either 20 or 40 minutes in length, and breaks will occur at the completion of every two levels. A 75-minute dinner break is scheduled for the end of Level 23.

Payout information is expected to be released in the near future and will be provided upon its official announcement. The PokerNews live reporting team will be around all day providing updates as the action unfolds. Don’t go anywhere.

Ramon Colillas went all in for the last of his chips from the small blind and received a call from Dirk Benz, who was in the big blind.

Ramon Colillas: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Dirk Benz: {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Colillas was behind and found his situation only get worse as the flop came {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{a-Spades} to give Benz top two pair. The turn came {7-Diamonds}, giving Colillas four outs at a backdoor straight, and the river {8-Clubs} fell behind it to fill Colillas up and score him the double.

Quintas Eliminated by Rusu

Nível 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Jose Quintas
Jose Quintas

The 2019 €1,100 EPT National Barcelona finalist Jose Quintas opened to 100,000 with 34,000 behind and Catalin Rusu in the big blind verified that it was just a raise and not an all. Rusu then took half a minute of consideration and moved all in, Quintas called after spending an equally long time in the think tank.

Jose Quintas: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Catalin Rusu: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board gave Rusu aces and queens, sending Quintas to the payout desk.

Staszko Dusted

Nível 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Martin Staszko
Martin Staszko

Goran Lukac opened to 26,000 from the cutoff with a dead big blind due to the player not having returned from break yet. Martin Staszko three-bet all in for 155,000 out of the small blind and Lukac asked for a count. He received confirmation of the figure and then thought for close to a minute before dropping one more chip on top of his original raise to signify a call.

Martin Staszko: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Goran Lukac: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The two were in a coin flip situation with Staszko needing to hold to stay alive in the tournament, but the flop {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{a-Clubs} improved Lukac to a better two pair than that of Staszko's, leaving him with two chances to hit one of the remaining two snowmen in the deck. The turn {k-Spades} removed those two outs as Lukac improved to a full house, leaving his only chance at survival being a river ace to chop with a higher full house. Unfortunately for the Czech native and 2011 WSOP Main Event runner up, the river fell {3-Diamonds} and sent him home from the tournament shortly after the first break of the day.

Giorgiy Skhulukhiya
Giorgiy Skhulukhiya

Jordan Saccucci went all in for his last 179,000 in the hijack and Giorgiy Skhulukhiya asked for confirmation of the amount before putting out calling chips. All remaining players folded and the two tabled their hands, with Skhulukhiya's being shown first.

Jordan Saccucci: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Giorgiy Skhulukhiya: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

"I like my hand. Three outs," Saccucci said with a smile, realizing he was up against the kings of Skhulukhiya.

"Sometimes it's like eight," said another player at the table, sending positive wishes Saccucci's way. Saccucci liked his hand less and less as the board ran out {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}, leaving him dry on chips to result in him leaving the tournament area en route to the payout desk

Blom was trailing with {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} versus {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and found no help on a {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} board. He bumped fists with the other players at the table before heading to the payout desk.

Armand Busts Morozovs In Massive Pot

Nível 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Mihails Morozovs
Mihails Morozovs

With some 170,000 in the middle, the flop showed {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Gregory Armand got into a raising war with Mihails Morozovs. Armand eventually reraised to 650,000 and called the shove of Morozovs for 1.1 million.

Mihails Morozovs: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Gregory Armand: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The {a-Hearts} turn and {k-Spades} river run out kept Armand's hand best and he gasped a "fuck yeah, this is the run of my live," then added how much he loves the venue and the quality of the dealers.

Armand already reached the last two tables of the EPT National in Barcelona a few months ago and may very well do so again as he has become one of the current chip leaders.

After he was done stacking all the chips, he apologized to the table for his swear words and excitement.

Chen Tank-Busts But Misses Pay Jump

Nível 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Pete Chen
Pete Chen

Vojtech Susta raised to 60,000 from the cutoff and Pete Chen three-bet to 500,000 on the button, leaving himself behind with a mere 25,000-chip. Action folded back to Susta who made the call.

The flop came {4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Susta bet 50,000 for Chen to dive deep into the tank as there were 72 players left and a pay jump was looming. Chen kept on tanking and even told the table that he'd be tanking until someone called the clock on him and that he'd understand if someone did. The tank lasted several more minutes and his tablemates all waited patiently for quite a while until one of them decided to pull the trigger and called the clock.

The floor came over, Chen confirmed that there would be a countdown. The floor confirmed and gave him 30 seconds. When she started counting down, Chen held his chip over the line before putting it down to make the call for his last 25,000 on the 2-second mark.

Pete Chen: {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Vojtech Susta: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The rest of the board was completed with the {2-Hearts} on the turn and the {9-Hearts} on the river for Chen to get eliminated. The floor confirmed Chen finished in 72nd place for €4,000 and that he had missed the pay jump.
