On Day 3 of the PokerStars EPT Prague €50,000 High Roller, Matthias Eibinger came, saw, dropped down, doubled back up, and won. Eibinger added €653,000 ($739,552) to his already massively impressive list of cashes in 2018.

The final day of the biggest buy-in event of the series started with four players remaining from a field of 40 entries.

Eibinger started with over fifty percent of the chips in play, but with all three other players on even stacks, there was still a lot of play left. And while Eibinger would eventually triumph, it was anything but easy going for the Austrian.

In the third hand of the day, Eibinger doubled Nemeth losing ace-five to the latter's ace-king. An orbit or what later, Nemeth came even closer to even stacks winning with top set against Eibinger's failed bluff.

Nemeth took over the lead when he busted Pavel Plesuv. The Moldovian lost with ace-king to Nemeth's ace-ten after a ten hit the flop.

With now close to half of the chips in play, Nemeth didn't just sit on his stack. He used it to pound on his two opponents, distancing himself more and more.

When he busted Liang Xu with eight-nine against queen-eight (nine on the turn), Nemeth started the heads up with 6.7 million to 3.3 million.

Nemeth widened the gap even more check-calling all the way with second-pair to Eibinger's failed bluff with an unimproved jack-nine. With now a 9-to-1 lead, Andras Nemeth seemed destined to lift the trophy and win the biggest prize of his poker playing career.

Instead, things went a little different for the Hungarian longtime pro. He first had to fold in a big pot, then lost with eights all in before the flop against Eibinger's ace-deuce. A lucky ace on the flop helped Eibinger get back in the saddle.

Nemeth regained control again, only to double Eibinger once more; this time with an inferior top-pair all in on the turn.

While the stacks weren't even all that shallow, the pots would still blow up regularly.

The last hand of the tournament saw Nemeth get it all in with the best of it. After a failed bluff, Nemeth pushed with ace-ten. Eibinger called with ace-nine, and another double up seemed likely. Instead, a nine hit the river, and Eibinger was declared the winner while Nemeth could do nothing more than sigh and shake hands.

Before this event, Eibinger already had amassed $4,026,169 in live tournament in earnings in 2018 alone. This 23rd cash of the year, worth €653,000 ($739,552), is only his third-biggest cash of his career.

Andras Nemeth Eliminated in 2nd Place (€451,350)

Andras Nemeth lost a big hand where he fired 600,000 on the river on a board of {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{A-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}. Eibinger called with {3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and left Nemeth shorter as he had nothing but {K-}{6-} with no spades.

Down to 3,950,000, he shoved all in from the big blind after Matthias Eibinger had raised to 200,000 from the button. Eibinger called to put Nemeth at risk. Nemeth, though, had the advantage.

Matthias Eibinger: {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Andras Nemeth: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The {2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} brought some chop outs for Eibinger. The {7-Spades} on the turn was a blank but the {9-Hearts} on the river sure wasn't.

"Unlucky," Eibinger said as Nemeth let out a big sigh before shaking hands.

Andras Nemeth finished in second place for €451,350 ($511,174) while Matthias Eibinger takes home the trophy and €653,000 ($739,552). An end of day recap is to follow shortly.

Eibinger Gets Lucky, Takes the Lead

Matthias Eibinger opened the button for 150,000 and Andras Nemeth three-bet to 550,000 from the big blind. Eibinger thought about it for a bit before he shoved for 2,900,000. Nemeth snap-called.

Matthias Eibinger: {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Andras Nemeth: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Nemeth was the favorite but the {A-Clubs}{3-Spades}{J-Clubs} flop changed all that. The {Q-Diamonds} on the turn and {7-Diamonds} on the river were blanks and Eibinger doubled into the lead.

Liang Xu Eliminated in 3rd Place (€288,090)

Nível 18 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Liang Xu

Matthias Eibinger folded his button and small blind Andras Nemeth shoved all in. Big blind Liang, Xu, with 660,000 total, thought about it for a bit before he called.

Andras Nemeth: {8-Spades}{9-Spades}
Liang Xu: {8-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

Xu asked for a queen, which prompted Nemeth to ask the dealer for a nine.

"Ok, nine," Xu said jokingly.

The flop of {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} wasn't doing anything yet, but the {9-Clubs} on the turn helped Nemeth jump in the lead. The {6-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and Xu exited in third place for €288,090 ($326,275).

Nemeth and Eibinger are now guaranteed €451,350 ($511,174), playing heads up for the trophy and €653,000 ($739,552).

Pavel Plesuv Eliminated in 4th Place (€220,870)

Nível 18 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Pavel Plesuv

Andras Nemeth opened under the gun for 110,000 and his neighbor Pavel Plesuv shoved from the button for 875,000. Both blinds got out of the way before Nemeth called.

Andras Nemeth: {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Pavel Plesuv: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Plesuv had a firm lead in the hand but that all changed on the {10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and {A-Clubs} on the river proved no help to him and Plesuv exited in fourth place.

Plesuv takes home €220,870 ($250,145). The three remaining players have €288,090 ($326,275) locked up.

Matthias Eibinger
Matthias Eibinger

The 2018 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague's €50,000 Super High Roller has just four players remaining from a field of 40 entries. The quartet is set to resume play at 12:30 local time (two hours from now.)

Austrian pro Matthias Eibinger would be the favorite with the bookies since he's the proud owner of 55 percent of the chips in play. With blinds set to resume at 25,000 and 50,000, his stack of 5,455,000 equalizes 109 big blinds.

The remaining 45 percent of the chips is in the hands of three experts of the game. Pavel Plesuv (1,600,000), Andras Nemeth (1,445,000), and Liang Xu (1,400,000) all have a wealth of experience and a similar sized stack.
