Charlie Carrel raised to 65,000 from under the gun and Leon Tsoukernik called from one seat over, as did Jean-Noel Thorel on the button. Vojtech Ruzicka in the big blind checked his short stack carefully and called to go four-ways to a flop of .
Ruzicka checked, Carrel continued for 135,000 and Tsoukernik called, both Thorel and Ruzicka folded. The on the turn slowed down the two remaining players, as Carrel and Tsoukernik checked. Same then happened on the river and Carrel rolled over for the king-high flush.
Tsoukernik shook his head and flipped over for a now worthless set and the pot was shipped to Carrel. "What should I say, I am a lucky man. If you had the ace of spades, I would be screwed," the Brit added.
Leon Tsoukernik was first to act and raised to a hefty 130,000. Jean-Noel Thorel on his left, called right away, followed by folds by Helppi and Ruzicka. Big blind Charlie Carrel squeezed to 425,000 and Tsoukernik called after thinking about it for about a minute. Thorel snap called to make it three-handed.
The flop came and Carrel checked. Tsoukernik bet 475,000 and Thorel snap shoved all in for 967,000. Carrel folded right away and Tsoukernik glanced over at him and asked "You fold so quick, huh?"
Tsoukernik only needed a couple seconds more before he called.
Jean-Noel Thorel:
Leon Tsoukernik:
The dealer wasted no time burning and putting the on the turn. That meant Thorel was drawing dead and the on the river was there just to make things official.
With that, the tournament was nine-handed. We'll get back to you with the redraw information.
In middle position and down to his last 179,000, November Niner Vojtech Ruzicka pushed all in. Over on the button it was Paul Newey repushing for 420,000. Both blinds released.
Vojtech Ruzicka:
Paul Newey:
Newey, who finished runner-up in this event back in 2014 for €557,090, leaned forward in excitement. The board ran out and Ruzicka made his exit.
With just 8 players remaining, the tournament is on the bubble. One player will go home empty-handed, the other seven will be banking a minimum of €123,520.
Time to race off the 1,000-chips which are no longer needed. When the players return in 20 minutes, a maximum of two more levels will be played - given that the bubble has burst by then. If the tournament is down to just six players before the two levels are in the books, play will also be halted.
Here is something to keep you entertained during the break.
Anthony Zinno shoved once and claimed the blinds and antes, Viacheslav Buldygin mucked his .
Buldygin then raised to 80,000 from the hijack and Leon Tsoukernik called in the big blind. On the flop was checked through, as was the turn. Tsoukernik check-folded the river to a bet of 100,000.
Charlie Carrel raised to 100,000 from under the gun and claimed the blinds and antes.
Then, Buldygin raised to 85,000 and Tsoukernik three-bet to 250,000 from the button. Buldygin called, but check-folded a flop of to a bet of 375,000 by Tsoukernik.
Both Buldygin and Tsoukernik built their stacks slightly, while Bertrand Grospellier dropped to less than four big blinds. Zinno doesn't have much more than that.
