€50,000 Super High Roller

Dia 2 Começado

Welcome to Day 2 of the 2016 EPT13 Prague €50,000 Super High Roller

Prague Hosts the last ever EPT
Prague Hosts the last ever EPT

Two hours from now, at 12.30 p.m. local time, Day 2 of the 2016 PokerStars EPT Season 13 Prague €50,000 Super High Roller will get underway at the Hilton Hotel in Prague. The last-ever festival of the tour before the rebranding in 2017, has seen a field of 46 entries emerge thus far for the tournament with the highest price tag, consisting of 38 unique entries and eight re-entries.

However, the final numbers aren't set just yet, as registration remains open until 15 minutes prior to restart. All players that busted yesterday's Day 1 or new faces that wish to take a shot at the juicy prize pool, can still enter the competition again with a fresh stack of 250,000.

Leading the field is Charlie Carrel with 1,129,000. The Brit already has two EPT High Roller titles to his name, also coming fresh off a third-place finish in the EPT13 Prague €10k Single Re-Entry worth €159,545 just two days ago. Second in chips is Julian Thomas with 700,000. The biggest payday of the German so far comes from his victory in the 2013 WPT Prague Main Event for €204,000. UK's Patrick Leonard follows in third place overnight, with 617,000. Konstantin Uspenskiy (517,000) and Isaac Haxton (504,000) round out the top five stacks at the start of Day 2.

Plenty of notables made it through including Jean-Noel Thorel (484,000), Paul Newey (459,000), Mustapha Kanit (453,000), Ben Heath (441,000), Anthony Zinno (437,000), defending champ Steve O'Dwyer (259,000) and Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (231,000) to name just a few.

The action will recommence with blinds of 3,000 and 6,000 and a running ante of 1,000. A total of 10 levels of 60 minutes each will be played, or until the official final table is found, whichever of the two comes first. The PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to provide all the updates until the last EPT Super High Roller champion is crowned on Tuesday, December 13th, so make sure to tune back in regularly.

Uspenskiy Takes from Buldygin

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Viacheslav Buldygin opened to 16,000 and fellow Russian Konstantin Uspenskiy called in the big blind. On the {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, both players checked. Buldygin bet the {3-Clubs} turn for 16,000 and Uspenskiy called before the {5-Spades} fell on the river.

Buldygin now bet 40,000 and Uspenskiy called to see the former turn over {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for queens and treys. Uspenskiy had that beat with the {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a straight and raked in the pot.

Sontheimer First Casualty of the Day

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Steffen Sontheimer
Steffen Sontheimer

Steffen Sontheimer shoved for his last 88,000 from the hijack and Jean-Noel Thorel from one seat over in the cutoff announced the call. Vladimir Troyanovskiy in the big blind gave it plenty of consideration, but ultimately got out of the way.

Steffen Sontheimer: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

The clubs were pretty much dead for the German, and both players paired up on the {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. Sontheimer still needed to improved, but failed to do so as the {8-Spades} turn and {4-Clubs} river were both blanks.

Uspenskiy Takes from Kabrhel

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

On the heads-up flop of {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}, Martin Kabrhel checked out of the big blind and Konstantin Uspenskiy bet 15,000 from early position. Kabrhel check-raised to 32,000 and Uspenskiy called before the duo checked the {7-Diamonds} turn. After the {4-Clubs} river, the action went check, check, and Uspenskiy took down the pot with the {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} to further build his stack.

Fatehi Doubles Through Greenwood

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

On the four-way flop of {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Justin Bonomo checked out of the big blind as did Martin Kozlov from under the gun. Ali Reza Fatehi bet 24,000 in the cutoff and Sam Greenwood raised to 50,000 from one seat over on the button. Both Bonomo and Kozlov folded and Fatehi then moved all in, Greenwood called.

Ali Reza Fatehi: {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Sam Greenwood: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The {6-Diamonds} turn changed nothing yet, but the {8-Clubs} on the river gave Fatehi a flush to double for 115,000.
