Julian Stuer lost one smaller hand against Ramin Hajiyev and then gave up another against the check-raise of Isaax Haxton on a queen-high flop.
The last hand of the level provided some fireworks when Adrian Mateos opened to 110,000 and Stuer then three-bet to 405,000 in the big blind. Mateos called and the flop fell . Stuer continued for 275,000 and Mateos called. Both then checked through the turn and the river.
Stuer flipped over for a pair of fours and ace-high, while Mateos claimed the pot and the chip lead with four left, holding for fives and fours.
Julian Stuer was first to act and raised to 140,000. His neighbor Adrian Mateos on the button three-bet to 400,000. Ramin Hajiyev folded his small blind but Isaac Haxton shoved for 2,435,000. Stuer folded right away and Mateos, while heavily sighing, asked for a count.
The dealer counted out 2,435,000 and Mateos sighed some more. He eventually, reluctantly, folded.

Mateos: "Two three off?"
Haxton: "Better than that. I am happy with the fold."
After battling his way back to more than 1.3 million chips, Julian Stuer raised to 140,000 as first to act. Ramin Hajiyev in the small blind had just about that stack as well and announced all in. Isaac Haxton in the big blind asked for a count and the stack of Hajiyev was deemed to be for 1,340,000. Haxton called and Stuer quickly folded.

The flop and the turn were safe for Hajiyev, but the on the river gave Haxton kings and fours to send the third-place finisher of this very event in 2015 to the rail in fourth place. Hajiyev takes home €200,300 for his efforts.
Three-handed play saw Julian Stuer start with around 1.1 million and he shoved a few times to build his stack slightly. This included two three-bet shoves into the min-raise of Isaac Haxton and forced folds both times.
Then, Adrian Mateos limped in from the small blind and Haxton checked in the big blind. On the flop, both players checked. Mateos bet the turn for 125,000 and Haxton called before then facing a bet worth 275,000 by Mateos on the river. Haxton elected to fold and dropped a few chips.
We missed the pre-flop action but saw small blind Adrian Mateos check-call 100,000 on a flop of . The on the turn saw Mateos check again and Isaac Haxton bet 600,000. Mateos called again.
The on the river saw both players check and Mateos showed a winner with , Haxton mucked.
Adrian Mateos opened to 200,000 on the button and Julian Stuer called in the big blind. On the flop, Stuer checked and folded to a continuation bet worth 350,000.
Mateos then made it 225,000 to go from the button one orbit later and Stuer shoved to claim the pot. Isaac Haxton won a limped pot against Mateos before the button was once again on Mateos.
The Spaniard raised to 225,000 and Stuer defended the big blind. On the flop, Stuer checked and Mateos bet 200,000. Stuer moved all in and Mateos folded almost instantly. The gap between the three players is slowly but surely closing, Haxton holds a narrow lead over Mateos now.
