Cortellazzi Goes Full Candio

Everyone remembers Italian player Filippo Candio who finished fourth in the 2010 WSOP Main Event for just over three-million dollars, and his epic celebrations.

Candio wore his heart on his sleeve during his Main Event run, and Andrea Cortellazzi just showed us something similar when he knocked out Domantas Klimciauskas.

Cortellazzi, who looked as though he was at risk, had his opponent covered by a few big blinds, when the cards were turned face up after they got all the money in preflop.

Iaron Lightbourne raised under the gun to 9,000 and Rainer Kempe called on the button. The flop came {3-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and Lightbourne continued for 11,500. Kempe called.

Both players checked the {J-Clubs} on the turn and the {Q-Hearts} completed the board. Lightbourne checked for the second time and Kempe bet 32,000 with about 70,000 behind. Lightbourne pushed all in and Kempe folded after tanking for quite some time.

Kempe not only won the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller earlier this week for €539,000 and final tabled the WPT Montreal Main Event (3rd for $147,599), but also final tabled both EPT Main Events this season. He finished 5th in both Barcelona (€320,400) and Malta (€161,340). In his live poker tournament career he amassed $1,590,753.

First, Levinskas raised under the gun plus one to 6,000 and Paris defended his big blind with pocket sixes. The flop came down {A-}{5-}{7-} with two clubs and Paris check-called 7,000.

On the turn a six hit, and Paris lead out for 16,000, which was called by Levinskas. The river was a king, and Paris lead for another 44,000. Levinskas called, and Paris took down the pot with a set of sixes.

Shortly thereafter Paris raised under the gun plus one and Levinskas moved all in for his last six big blinds. Paris called with {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and beat the Lithuanian's {A-}{8-} on {J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts}.
