Minieri Doubles Through Wigg

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Dario Minieri
Dario Minieri

Dario Minieri limped in the cutoff for 400, the button made it 1,500 to go, and Anton Wigg four-bet to 3,700. Minieri responded with a five-bet to 7,100, which folded out the button, and Wigg set Minieri all-in for his 25,500 chips. Minieri called.

Minieri: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Wigg: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

An ace on the flop of the {4-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts} board was enough to win the pot for Minieri and Wigg handed over a chunk of his stack.

Hwang Busts Higgins

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Yung Hwang raised to 1,000 from early position and was called by Jonathan little on the button, Martin Finger in the small blind, and Simon Higgins in the big blind.

Both blinds checked on the {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, Hwang bet 2,500, Little folded, but Finger and Higgins called. The turn was the {J-Spades}, again both blinds checked, Hwang fired a bet of 5,200 and only Higgins called. On the {A-Hearts} river, Higgins moved all-in for 7,575 and Hwang instantly called, showing {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for two pair, much stronger than the {A-Spades}{3-Clubs} of Higgins.

Mateos Has Mountains of Chips

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Spain's Adrian Mateos is up to 120,000 chips and that spells bad news for anyone having to face him.

Part of his stack was won in a fortunate manner, his {10-}{9-} cracking an opponent's {A-}{A-} with all the chips going in on a ten-high board, only for Mateos to catch a straight on the river.

Aces Up Don't Work for Kanit

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Mustapha Kanit - from the Super High Roller
Mustapha Kanit - from the Super High Roller

We missed the elimination of Mustapha Kanit, but Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier, who had been seated at the same table, was kind enough to fill us in on the details.

As he told it, Kanit was sitting with around 10,000 when he opened and was met by a three-bet from France's Anthony Picault in the big blind. Kanit called, the flop came down {q-}{6-}{4-}, and Picault continued for 2,200. Kanit ripped it and Picault snap-called.

Picault: {k-}{k-}
Kanit: {a-}{q-}

Kanit had flopped top pair, but he was way behind the overpair of Picault. A {K-} on the turn actually left Kanit drawing dead, meaning the {A-} river that gave him two pair was a moot point.

Luca Can't Shake Hruby

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Argentina's Ivan Luca, who won a World Series of Poker gold bracelet this past summer, opened for 800 from the cutoff and Team PokerStars Pro Martin Hruby defended from the big blind. Hruby then check-called bets of 700 on the {5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop and 1,625 on the {8-Spades} turn before checking a third time on the {3-Diamonds} river.

Luca bet again, this time 2,000, and Hruby tossed in a single chip to signify a call. Luca simply mucked, and Hruby showed the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to claim the pot.

McDonald on the Rise

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

On a flop reading {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Spades} and with 19,000 already in the pot, Uri Gilboa bet 11,000 from the cutoff. McDonald, giving Gilboa his trademark "Timex Stare," reached for chips and moved all-in for 21,250. Gilboa tanked for close to two minutes before deciding that his hand wasn't good enough to call. McDonald showed the {Q-Spades} as he raked in the pot.

Schemion Starts to Rebuild

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Ole Schemion, in the big blind, checked on the {9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, and Mike Watson checked behind from his seat in the cutoff. The turn brought the {5-Hearts} to table, and Schemion welcomed it with a 1,700 bet. Watson called. The river was the {5-Clubs}, pairing the board and putting a possible flush out there. Schemion moved all-in for 10,250 and Watson folded after around 90-seconds of deliberation.
