€10,300 High Roller
Dia 1 Começado
The third and final High Roller event on the EPT Malta schedule kicks off at 12:30 p.m. local time today.
The €10,000 + €300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller will play eight-handed with 60-minute levels and players starting with 50,000 in chips.
It is a three-day event and today they will attempt to get through the first 10 levels with a 20-minute break after each two and a 75-minute dinner break scheduled for the end of sixth.
A single re-entry is permitted and registration will remain open until 15-minutes before the start of Day 2 at 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Of course, a bevvy of poker superstars are expected to turn up for this one, including Steve O'Dwyer, who just took over the top spot on the EPT all-time money winner's list with a win in the €10,200 Single-Day High Roller here in Malta just the other day.
Canadian Mike McDonald is now second on that list after he shipped the €25,750 High Roller at the front end of the Malta festival, and although he is still in contention for the Main Event title, should things go awry there, he's expected to turn up here.
Jason Wheeler and Byron Kaverman are both coming off final table appearances in the first two High Roller events as well, so it's a good bet they'll be here joining a host of well known rounders.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand for all the action from start to finish, so keep it locked right here for complete coverage of the EPT12 Malta €10,000 + €300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller.
The start of the tournament has been pushed back for 15 minutes, as many of the registered players have not shown up yet. The new scheduled starting time is around 12:45 p.m. and around two dozen players are currently roaming around the tournament area.

Seven players won seats to today’s €10k High Roller after competing in last night’s €500 Super satellite.
This includes Brazilian Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari, EPT Copenhagen champion Anton Wigg, EPT Deauville winner Remi Castaignon and EPT Barcelona High Roller winner Jonathan Currle.
Jean Montury, last season’s EPT Malta Main Event champion just missed, finishing eighth for €3,560, so he may get in later as well.
For now, we start 20 minutes late with the clock reading 39 entries and 21players actually on the felt.
In a battle of the blinds, a raising war started between Jeff Rossiter and Vicente Delgado. The former squeezed to 2,900 out of the small blind and was called before both saw the flop . A continuation bet by the Australian won the pot without any further resistance.
Delgado, a former Supernova Elite on PokerStars, was Team Online member while living in Spain and has since moved to the UK.

On the river of a board, Luca Pagano led for what looked like 1,900 chips and Corey Hochman raised to 4,500. Pagano called and was shown for a straight to send his cards into the muck. Right after the hand, Anatoly Filatov arrived at the table and JC Alvarado is in as well.
The screens currently show 50 entrants, though it is still very early on.
