A Lesson in Big Blind Defense

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

At two adjacent tables, two top pros were seated in the big blind. Jake Cody was up first and he saw a limp, a raise and a call in front of him. He called and so did the limper and the four players saw a flop of {Q-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{K-Spades}. The original limper, Sebastian Ruiz Figueroa of Chile then bet out 600 and Jake was the only caller. The turn card of the {A-Spades} was checked by both players and they saw a {Q-Spades} river.

Like in an earlier hand, Jake tossed out a single blue chip, worth 5,000, into the middle but declared his bet at 3,000. Figueroa eventually folded. One blind successfully defended.

Dato meanwhile had seen an open from the cutoff by and called in the big blind. He saw a flop of {J-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and check-raised his opponent's bet of 350 to 1,025. His opponent folded. Make that two blinds successfully defended.
