Second break of the day. Back in a quarter of an hour.
Phil Ivey opened to 500 preflop. He was called by Vasili Firsau before Samir Moukawem made it 2,400 in the blinds. Ivey called and Firsau folded.
The flop was 
and both players checked. Moukawem fired a 3,000 bet on the 
turn but Ivey made the call. Both players then checked the 
river. Moukawem showed 
but Ivey held 
to win this pot.

The floor was called to table 18 and after a short delay they arrived. The clock had been called and Oleksii Khoroshenin was given a one minute countdown. In front of him was a bet of 7,700 which had been met by a large raise from Italian Eros Nastasi. It would be all of Khoroshenin’s chips if he were to call.
With five seconds remaining Khoroshenin folded 
face up to gasps. In return Nastasi was kind enough to show him one card, flipping over the

Earlier today we told you the story of LAPT Season 3 Florianopolis champ of 22-year-old Matthias Habernig, who has been focusing on his studies in Vienna. Habernig told us that he had never been to Monte Carlo before, so he decided to come play some poker.
He got off to a rough start early on when he "donked off" about half his stack, but he seems to have turned things around.
In a recent hand, 2012 World Poker Tour Montreal champ Jonathan Roy opened for 525 from the cutoff only to have Habernig three-bet to 1,700 from the small blind. The big folded, Roy pushed back with a four-bet to 3,700, and Habernig moved all in. Roy, who had about 14,000 total, called off.

It was a classic flip, but Habernig needed to catch if he hoped to eliminate a tough opponent. Luckily for him, that's just what he did when the flop came down 
. Habernig took the lead with a pair of kings, and he never looked back as the appeared on the turn followed by the on the river.
Roy was eliminated in Level 4 while Habernig climbed above the starting stack for the first time in the tournament.

Chris Moneymaker opened for 500 and got just one caller. The flop was 
and Moneymaker bet 1,025. He got a call and on the turn 
he again had his bet of 2,400 called. The river card was the 
and Moneymaker made a bet of 7,000 with 8,000 left behind him. His opponent had a look at Moneymaker’s remaining stack and took a good minute to make their mind up, eventually calling.
“Pair.” Moneymaker said and flipped over 
. It was good and a much needed pot was pushed to the former world champ.

Noah Schwartz just suffered a minor setback. He had check-raised Jan-Peter Jachtmann's bet on a 
board and the latter moved all in with

It was three-bet preflop and five players saw the flop fall 
and all five of them checked.
The turn card was the 
and small blind Yaxi Zhu bet out for 7,500. The size of the pot was 12,000 and the only player to call the bet was Jonathan Roy on the button.
The river card was the 
and Zhu checked. Roy looked like he was thinking about a bet but he too checked. Zhu turned over saying, “Show a set? I’m scared.” No need to be scared though as the aces were good for a decent enough pot.

It's been awhile since we checked in on 2003 World Series of Poker champ and Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker. We decided to go have a look, and what we found wasn't good.
Moneymaker had just raised to 550 under the gun and received a call from Patryk Slusarek in the hijack. The big blind came along and three players saw a flop of 
. The big blind checked, Moneymaker continued for 1,025, and Slusarek popped it 2,700. The big blind folded and Moneymaker did the same.
It wasn't a huge loss, but it seemed indicative of Moneymaker's day thus far as he is down to 9,800.
