Boom Boom Benger

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Antoine Saout opened the hijack foor 800 and with {K-}{K-} Benger made it 2,125 from the cutoff. Erik Seidel in the small blind cold called, and Saout added some chips as well to see a flop.

Seidel and Saout checked to Benger on {K-}{9-}{8-} rainbow. Benger followed up on his pre flop aggression by betting 3,100. Seidel made it 6,500 and Saout folded. Benger called with the nuts and called another 5,700 on the off suit {7-} that turned. The river was the {Q-Clubs} and Seidel bet out 15,000.

Benger thought about it for about 45 seconds and then moved all in for 13,000 more. Seidel sighed and called reluctantly with {8-}{8-} for the lower set. Seidel was eliminated, got up from the table and made his way to the registration desk to reenter.

Silver Sandwiched by Russians

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

Artem Litvinov had just seemingly talked Max Silver into calling his river bet on a board showing {5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and turned over {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for the rivered straight.

Silver then opened the next pot for 1,000 and was called by Aleksandr Denisov and Litvinov in the big blind. The flop was {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} and when Litvinov checked Silver bet 2,500 and just Denisov stuck around to see the turn card {q-Spades}. Silver bet again for 2,200, Denisov called.

The river was the {7-Spades} and Silver thought for a while before checking and showing the {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. He was beaten by the {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} of Denisov.

Weird Spot

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Griffin Benger
Griffin Benger

Griffin Benger had mistakenly thought he was in the big blind and had put out 400. Three players had folded when they realised something had gone wrong and the floor was called to adjudicate.

The floor explained that because there had been “substantial action.” i.e three players folding, it would be ruled a call and the action would now be on Philipp Gruissem. Benger explained that he hadn’t even looked at his cards.

Being poker players they all had an opinion on the matter, but in the end the ruling stood and it was accepted. Benger’s chips would stay out there as a call.

Gruissem raised it to 1,200 from the button and Sam Trickett made the call in the small blind. Antoine Saout folded the big blind and now Benger looked at his cards.

Benger made it 4,500 to go. Gruissem folded and Trickett laughed “That’s such a weird spot. I don’t want to stack off.” He folded his {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Benger showed the table {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. “I had to.” he explained.

Schemion Eliminated

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Ole Schemion has just been eliminated from the tournament. We walked past him when he registered for another entry in the tournament. "I bluffed" he laughed, "I check-jammed the river" said Schemion while he walked back into the tournament room.

Angel Guillen told us some more details of the hand. Schemion opened under the gun and got three callers. On {6-}{6-}{2-} he bet 800 and one of his opponents made the call. Schemion fired another 1,350 on the {K-}-turn that brought a flush draw to the tabled. The {A-} on the river made Schemion check. His opponent fired 5,000, and Schemion pushed allin for a little over 20,000. The player made the call holding {J-}{6-} for trips, Schemion had {A-}{5-}-suited which wasn't good enough.

Though there hasn't been an official announcement yet, Ole Schemion is the European Poker Tour Season 10 Player of the Year. He has 1,173 points and an uncatchable lead over Thomas Muehloecker (872) and Alex Bilokur (823).

Kampanatsanyakorn Wants Out

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

It’s no fun playing a High Roller when you’re short on chips and on your first bullet. Surely it’s far better to bust as quickly as you can and pull out another €25,000 to get a full stack to play with again. At least that seems to be the philosophy of Chane Kampanatsanyakorn from Thailand. He’d lost a fairly big pot to Dmitry Yurasov at the start of the day and it doesn’t seem to have got any better for him since.

Down to his last 3,150 Kampanatsanyakorn shoved over an open from Imad Derwiche who made the fold. Soon after he shoved from the small blind and the big blind folded {4-}{3-}. He then open shoved from the button for 3,600 and got called by [Removed:119] in the small blind.

Big blind Bryn Kenney wanted to take the pot heads up and re-popped it to 9,100. Bensadoun though made the call and they saw a flop of {q-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. Bensadoun checked and folded to a bet of 7,000 from Kenney who turned over {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}. Kampanatsanyakorn tuned over {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The turn {8-Spades} and river {k-Spades} meant he tripled up and the re-buy would have to wait a while.
