Schemion Eliminates Reinkemeier

Nível 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Ole Schemion opened the hijack for 5,100 and Steve O'Dwyer made the call from the cutoff. Tobias Reinkemeier in the small blind squeezed to 17,000 and action was back on Schemion after the big blind folded.

Schemion four-bet to 36,500 and O'Dwyer quickly released. Reinkemeier shoved his 135,200 stack into the middle, Schemion made the call.

Ole Schemion: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Tobias Reinkemeier: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The flop gave Reinkemeier a gut shot: {J-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{9-Spades}. It would stay a gut shot though and nothing more than that: {2-Clubs} on the turn and {7-Clubs} on the river.

Ole Schemion is the chip leader, Reinkemeier is on the rail.

Schemion's Good Week Continues with Satellite Win

Nível 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Less than a week ago, Ole Schemion won the PokerStars.it EPT10 Sanremo High Roller for €265,000. The victory made his an overwhelming favorite to capture the EPT10 Player of the Year title, and just when things couldn't be going any better for the 21-year-old German, he won his way into this event for a reduced €10,200.

That's because last night a dozen players participated in a €10,200 buy-in satellite into the €100,000 Super High Roller. Others who participated included Adrian Mateos, Steve O’Dwyer, Sorel Mizzi, Mike McDonald, Olivier Busquet, Thomas Muclocker, Igor Kurganov, Mustapha Kanit, Ami Barer, Martin Finger and Max Altergott.

Of those, only Barer, Mizzi, Muhlocker and Kanit have not entered the SHR today. Only time will tell if they decide to pony up the $100K.

Troyanovskiy Eliminates Trickett

Sam Trickett

On a {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Vladimir Troyanovskiy checked and Sam Trickett bet 8,200. Troyanovskiy check-raised to 21,000 and Trickett made the call to see the {8-Diamonds} on the turn.

The Russian bet 27,000 this time and Trickett again made the call.

The river was the {4-Hearts} and Troyanovskiy checked, Trickett thought for a moment and then announced, "all-in." Troyanovskiy quickly made the call.

Trickett: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Troyanovskiy: {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

On seeing his opponent's cards Trickett, slightly cross with himself, said, "That's what I thought you had. Then I went all in."

The Englishman is the first casualty of the Super High Roller event.

Schemion & Selbst Looking for More High Roller Success

Nível 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The European Poker Tour Season 10 Player of the Year race was a heated affair between Ole Schemion, Vanessa Selbst, and Thomas Muhlocker, but that changed last weekend in Sanremo when Schemion walked away with the €10,000 High Roller title. The win gave him a seemingly insurmountable lead (he has 1,026 pts, which us 263 ahead of Muhlocker and 283 over Selbst), which means he will be the EPT10 POY barring some miracle performances here in Monte Carlo.

That said, we've seen some memorable performance already this season from both Schemion and Selbst. Most notably, they are the only two players to cash in all three cornerstone events at the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. If you recall, Schemion took seventh in the PCA $100K Super High Roller for $277,080; 144th in the Main Event for $17,600; and seventh in the PCA $25,000 High Roller for $216,040. As for Selbst, she placed third in the PCA $100K SHR for $760,640; 42nd in the Main Event for $32,000; and third in the $25,000 High Roller (the same event she won the year before for $1,424,420) for $607,580.

As if that wasn't impressive enough, Schemion actually did it at Barcelona too at the start of the season. It was there that he took sixth in the €50,000 Super High Roller for €159,200; 123rd in the €5,000 Main Event for €10,000l and sixth in the €10,000 High Roller Reentry for €90,700.

Every EPT stop features a program for players, and in it EPT President Edgar Stuchly offers a welcome message. He is the one from the 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final:

This week we will crown our final Main Event champion of the 'EPT decade,' and we will do it grand style. If you're a tour regular, you know we have partnered with the France Poker Series for our events in Deauville. Now, for the first time, the partnership brings the FPS to Monaco. That means not only will you get the big money action you expect from the EPT, but you'll also have a chance to play a wide variety of events at affordable and fun buy-ins.

We're extremely excited to bring cash games back to Monaco, and this year we've expanded our offerings again. We aim to provide you with the best cash game dealers and top service for your action. What's more, if you have made Open-Face Chinese Poker your new game of choice, we have specialized tables just for you. Be sure to check out the cash game area for our custom pentagonal tables made specifically for OFC games.

After this week, we'll take a brief break, but we'll be back at the end of the summer for Season 11 and the EPT Barcelona where we will celebrate the 100th EPT Main Event.

For now, go out and see all the beauty and opulence Monaco has to offer, and then come back to celebrate this final festival of Season 10 with us.

Welcome to the 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final €100,000 Super High Roller

Lovely Monaco!
Lovely Monaco!

Season 10 of the European Poker Tour is fresh off a record-making stop in Sanremo, Italy, where Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren Mitchell topped a field of 556 players to become the first player to ever win two EPT Main Event titles. It was history in the making, but now it's on to bigger things... at least in terms of buy-in.

The 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final, the last stop of the season, kicks off today with the €100,000 Super High Roller from the beautiful Salles des Etoiles room at Le Sporting. This marks the fourth and final Super High Roller of the season after Vitaly Lunkin outlasted 50 other players to win the €50,000 buy-in event in Barcelona; Martin Finger emerged victorious over a 57-entry field to win the £50,000 event in London for £821,000; and Fabian Quoss topped a field of 56 to win the one at the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure €100,000 buy-in Super High Roller for more than $1.6 million in prize money.

As for this event, last year's tournament attracted 41 players that accounted for nine reentries, which brought the field up to 50 and created a prize pool of €4,851,000. Players in last year's event included Phil Ivey, Antonio Esfandiari, Erik Seidel and Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu, and we're expecting many of them to be in action today.

In fact, tournament officials expect this year’s €100,000 Super High Roller at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final could rival or even top last year’s event, which was won by online high stakes cash game player Max Altergott. The 23-year-old German took down the prestigious event for a massive €1,746,400 first prize. Altergott will no doubt return looking for a title defense, and for the first time ever a group of Macau high rollers will be in attendance. One of those high rollers, or at least a poker pro who has been playing in Macau, is none other than Alec Torelli, who will be in action today:

Garry GatesJust 12 hours until cards are in the air for what I anticipate will be a record-breaking field in tomorrow's 100k Super High Roller! #EPT

Alec TorelliOn the way to Monaco! I will be playing the 100k Super High Roller and the high stakes tv Cash Game.… http://t.co/NxF262UMfx
