59 Players Progress to Day 2 of the EAPT Bratislava Main Event

It's time for Day 2 of the EAPT Bratislava Main Event, here at Banco Casino. Among the 389 entrants recorded in this event, 59 players successfully qualified through one of the five Day 1s during the last days and will be back today, Saturday, January 27, for the second part of the tournament.

Day 1e, the last flight of all, was the one to build a big stack, as Miklos Zsuffa bagged 883,000 chips last night. He is the overall chip leader for Day 2, ahead of all the other chip leaders of Day 1s: Rostyslav Sabishchenko (715,000), Adrian Filip (630,000), and Zsolt Szabo (614,000). Only Ruslan Volkov isn't in the Top 10, as he ended Day 1c with the biggest stack of his flight, but only 332,000 chips.

Maksym Sheingart (550,000), Steinn Karlsson (460,000), Konstantinos Nanos (395,000), or Michel Molenaar (194,500) also secured the minimum cash prize, as well as Roy Even, who'll start the day with a single blind.

Play resumes at noon local time on Level 10, with blinds of 1,000/2,000 and a 2,000 big blind ante. This very low level compared to the sixteen levels played on the other flights is due to Day 1c, which ended early because of the small number of players on this flight. That also explains why the chip leaders will have more than 300 blinds.

The situation will be back to normal during the day, as blinds will increase every 45 minutes. The day will end at the end of Level 25 or when 16 players remain.

€32,630 for the Winner of the EAPT Bratislava Main Event

The payouts of the 2024 EAPT Bratislava Main Event have been revealed at the beginning of Day 2. The 389 entrants generated a prize pool that didn't reach the €190,000 guarantee (€170,000 + €20,000 Grand Final packages). The 59 remaining players are already in the money, and secured a minimum cash-prize of €850.

Tomorrow, one player will be crowned as the winner and will take the first-place prize of €37,630, which includes a €5,000 package for EAPT Grand Final in Cyprus in May. The last four players will all win a package.

The chip leader Miklos Zsuffa raised to 5,500 from the button, and was called by bot players in the blinds.

The flop came 2♣6♠3♣ and Sabishchenko decided to lead out for 6,500. Zsuffa folded at this point, but Sisso made the call.

Sabishchenko fired a second barrel of 14,000 on the turn A♠. But this time, Sisso check-folded.

Michel Molenaar called from the button after Mody Rubinstein opened to 6,000 from the cutoff, and he was the only one to do so.

Rubinstein continued for 6,000 on a flop of 2♦5♣7♦, then fired a second barrel of 12,000 on the turn 8♥. Molenaar called both times.

The 5♦ landed on the river, and Rubinstein bet 13,000. Molenaar looked at his cards one last time, and folded.

Day 1a chip leader Adrian Filip opened to 7,000 from early position, and faced Benjamin Lakatos who defended from the big blind.

On a flop of 3♠Q♠8♥, Lakatos check-called after Filip bet 6,000, then he check-called again on the turn 7♠ when Filip bet 8,000.

The 4♦ landed on the river, and Filip asked for 22,000 with A♣K♦. Lakatos snap-called with J♦8♦ and scooped the pot.

Volkov Makes Giannakopoulos Fold

Ioannis Giannakopoulos opened to 6,500 from the hijack. Ruslan Volkov to his left called, as well as Lukas Stopka in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a board of K♣K♦5♣, and Giannakopoulos continued for 11,000.Volkov called, but Stopka check-folded.

Giannakopoulos checked on the turn A♥, so Volkov took this opportunity to bet 30,000. Giannakopoulos called, then checked again on the river 9♣.

Volkov took a pile of blue chips from his stack, put it in front of him, for a total of 85,000, and made Giannakopoulos fold.
