Livingston Doubles Through Gong

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Alex Livingston was all in for 10,800 with {a-Spades}{8-Clubs} but was staring down the barrel of elimination against the {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} of Jiachen Gong.

The {5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and {q-Spades} turn opened the door to a chop, but the {8-Diamonds} river saw Livingston double up.

"I'd have taken a chop," he said as he rakes in the pot.

Hachem and Smith Eliminated

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Joe Hachem was unable to spin up his short stack and departed early on, and Dan Smith followed him to the rail soon after. Down to 9,000, Smith pushed from under the gun and was called by Spiros Maroulis on the button.

Dan Smith: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Spiros Maroulis: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The board came {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Smith failed to catch one of his overcards to join the rail.

Yan Jams Into Laoyont

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Patrick Laoyont defended his big blind against David Yan and check-called a bet on the {9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} flop. Laoyont then checked the {7-Spades} turn and Yan bet 100,000, which effectively gave his opponent the choice to fold with around 26,000 behind or call all-in. Laoyont opted for the former and surrendered the pot.

At the same time, Joseph Hayek was seen on his way out of satellite central as he became one of the early Day 2 casualties.

Cautious Cabret

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Joe Cabret raised to 1,600 from early position, Graeme Siow flatted in the cutoff, and Kahle Burns and Hiroshi Nishiyama came along from the blinds.

Cabret continued for 2,500 when the {q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades} hit the felt and only Siow called. The {j-Hearts} turn saw Cabret check to his opponent who fired 5,000. Cabret called.

The {6-Clubs} river was checked by Cabret again and Siow thought for a little bit about firing one more shell, but he eventually tapped back. He opened {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} but it wasn't strong enough to beat Cabret's {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

Koop Loses Chunks to Levy

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Grant Levy check-called a bet of 11,500 by Niko Koop in the cutoff with the {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{a-Hearts} turn showing and the {j-Hearts} fell on the river. Both players invested 23,500 each as Levy called Koop's bet, who showed {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a flush. Levy had the superior flush on {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and Koop flung his cards with force and plenty of frustration into the muck.

Yokosawa Doubles Through Ong

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

With action on the {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} turn, Egor Bulychev bet 2,500 out of the small blind. Dingxiang Ong called on his left and Masato Yokosawa raised to 7,500 from the button. Bulychev quickly escaped but Ong called to see the river.

It fell {10-Clubs} and Ong checked to Yokosawa who shoved his last 21,800. Ong took nearly three minutes to figure out his decision and then he called. Yokosawa flipped {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Ong mucked.

Gill Departs After Set-Over Set Clash

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Oliver Gill raised to 1,700 and picked up two callers including Andrew Miller to see a flop of {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} on which Gill continued for 3,000. Miller quickly raised to 10,000 and the big blind folded, Gill called. The {10-Spades} on the turn brought a check-call for 15,000 by Gill, who then also checked the {q-Clubs} on the river.

Miller moved all in with the covering stack and Gill eventually called it off to see his set of deuces second best, as Miller had {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} for a set of treys.

Kenney Announces Shuffle Up and Deal

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Aussie Millions Tournament Director Joel Williams introduced arguably the biggest name on the planet when it comes to live poker, as 2019 champion Bryn Kenney was on hand for a few words before cards got in the air.

Kenney bagged over 100,000 yesterday, and said he didn't have any chips until late in the day.

"I just had to play patiently," said Kenney. "Don't try to push anything too much. I had a nice trip before this, but I made sure I landed in time to play the Main Event.

"It's my favourite place to play poker, so I had to come and show my face and go for back-to-back!"

Kenney praised the entire Aussie Millions team for what they're bringing to the poker community.

"For me, the most important thing is for players to have a good time when they're playing and for it to be a special event, and you do a great job of doing that. It's a great atmosphere, and that's the most important thing for poker and for poker to grow."

The all-time money list leader then wished players good luck and announced the ceremonial shuffle up and deal.
