Day 1c of Aussie Millions Main Event Gets Underway Today

2020 Aussie Millions
2020 Aussie Millions

The final starting flight of the A$10,600 Aussie Millions Main Event is scheduled for today, starting at 12:30 p.m. local time. Day 1c traditionally attracts the biggest crowd, and the same can be expected this year. So far 424 players joined the field across the two previous heats at Crown Melbourne (160 on Day 1a and 264 on Day 1b).

The procedure for the last starting day remains the same. The participants will be navigating through seven 90-minute levels, beginning with 30,000 chips at 50/100. Big blind ante will come into play from the third level, and the action will wrap up with the conclusion of the 300/600/600 round.

Andrew Theakstone set the bar yesterday when he reported 207,300 to claim the pole position from Day 1a leader Fabian Quoss (187,100). With roughly half of the field making it through to Day 2, the players need to double their starting stack throughout the day to stay on par with the tournament average.

Dozens of the world's best players were busy competing in the A$50K Challenge in the last two days, and it is likely that some of them will now turn their attention to the flagship event. Late registration will be open through to the end of the flight and beyond, closing after the first level on Day 2.

The Aussie Millions Main Event is a classic freezeout, leaving everyone with a single tournament life. The previous two starting days weren't, however, short of some huge action straight from the opening minutes. So make sure to come back in time for the shuffle up and deal to follow the PokerNews live updates from start to finish.
