Grigg and Broom Chop It Up

Nível 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Tom Grigg and James Broom will have to be content with little more than a refund after splitting a recent pot.

With the flop showing {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} Grigg checked under the gun before Broom took a stab at it for 2,000 on the button. Grigg tossed in a call and players went to the {10-Hearts} turn. The action then went check-check and once again when the {4-Spades} river appeared.

Grigg and Broom both tabled ace-queen and the dealer began dividing up the pot.

“Position should win there. He’s a better player” Broom said with a laugh while pointing at Grigg.

Watson Doubles Shortstack

Nível 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Mike Watson opened to 1,200 from under the gun and picked up two callers taking the action three-way to a flop of {q-Hearts}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs} which all three players check.

The {7-Spades} turn brought a check from the small blind and Watson led out for 3,000. The player sitting to Watson’s direct left folded and the small blind check-raised all-in for 13,400. Watson did not take long to call, flipping over {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for two pairs, but is trailing to the small blind’s {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flopped Broadway straight.

No ace or ten hit the river and the shortstack doubled to 32,000 while Watson dropped to 54,000.

Glazier Still Swinging

Nível 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Jackie Glazier’s Aussie Millions hopes haven’t been extinguished just yet – she just scored somewhat of a lucky double up through Jason Mo.

It appeared that Mo had raised to 1,100 on the button before Glazier moved all in for 4,175 from the small blind.

“Only because I’m drinking and I like you” said Mo as he tossed in the extra.

Glazier: {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Mo: {9-Spades}{4-Spades}

Despite having just nine-high Mo found himself in front until the board ran out {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts} to see Glazier river a flush to secure the double up.

Watson Takes Two From Tan

Nível 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Jay Tan has been moved over to Mike Watson’s table and the two have tangled in a couple of hands with Watson winning both.

We caught the action on the turn in the first on a board reading {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. With roughly 4,000 in the pot Watson had led out for 2,000 and Tan was just contemplating the call as we arrived.

Tan does call and just as we were maneuvering into a position to catch a better view of the action Watson led out for 5,000 and Tan folded before we could get a glimpse of the river.

Watson is in the big blind for the next hand and following a raise from a player sitting under the gun Tan called in middle position and Watson also made the call to take the hand three-way to a {4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop.

Watson checked the original raiser led out for 1,500 and both Tan and Watson called.

The {5-Diamonds} brought checks from Watson and the under the gun player and Tan reached down for chips, betting out 4,200 in total. Watson called and the original raiser folded to take the hand heads-up.

Watson checked the {j-Spades} river and Tan checked it right back. As the last aggressor, she has to show first and turned over {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for king-high and a missed heart draw. Watson rolled over {8-Diamonds}{a-Spades} for top pair and raked in another pot. He’s now sitting on 60,000 while Tan dropped to around 90,000.

Tan Takes Down Battle Of The Blinds

Nível 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Jay Tan is back up over the six-figure mark after winning a pot from Mikita Badziakouski.

The board read {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and from the small blind Tan led for 3,100 into Badziakouski who was sitting in the big blind. The latter made the call and the {j-Clubs} peeled off on the river.

Tan loaded up again and fired for 6,500. Badziakouski studied her through his sunglasses but after checking and re-checking his cards he threw them in the muck.

Engel Applies Pressure

Nível 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Ari Engel is ramping up the pressure and is flexing his raising muscles, much to the chagrin of his tablemates. Sitting under the gun Engel opened with a raise to 1,325 and picked up a caller on the button.

Engel led the {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop for 1,500 and his opponent chewed over the decision before making the call.

The {j-Spades} turn brought another Engel bet, this one a slightly larger 3,650. The button stared Engel down for two minutes but eventually made a grudging fold leaving Engel to scoop the pot.

Kristen Bicknell kicked off the action in the subsequent hand, raising to 1,200 from under the gun and action folded around to Engel in the big blind who, with chips to spare, chose to defend.

The flop came down {5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} bringing an Engel check and a Bicknell bet of 1,400. Engel reached for chips and check-raised to 5,200 in total and Bicknell peeked back down at her cards before sliding out a call.

The {6-Hearts} turn saw Engel fire for 7,900 and Bicknell took the hint and folded. She fell to 40,000 while Engel climbed up to 115,000.

Koren Clips Opponent

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Artur Koren raised to 1,350 from under the gun and was called by the player in the cutoff as well as Dietrich Fast in the big blind.

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Fast checked. Koren threw out a continuation bet totalling 1,800 and the cutoff called. Fast folded.

The turn brought the {k-Diamonds} and Koren checked. His opponent immediately reached for his chips and tossed out 3,500. Koren stared at the board for a moment then called.

The {3-Clubs} completed the board and both players opted to check. Koren waited until his opponent tabled his {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for ace-high before he revealed his {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} for two pair and the winning hand.
