Gupta Misses it All

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a flop of {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades} both Ash Gupta and his opponent moved all in after a series of raises with Gupta’s opponent at risk with less behind.

Gupta: {j-Spades}{8-Spades}
Opponent: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Gupta had an up-and-down straight draw as well as a flush draw but was behind to his opponent who had an overpair.

The board ran out the {9-Clubs} and {k-Hearts} to see the jacks hold to send Gupta down to 10,000 in chips.

“How do you brick there Ash?” joked James Broom after the hand. Gupta just shrugged as he watched the pot get pushed over to his opponent.

Krishnan Chipping Up

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

The player in the cutoff raised and was called by Shurane Krishnan on the button.

The flop came {5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades} and the cutoff led out for 1,100. Krishnan called.

The turn brought the {8-Spades} and this time Krishnan was met with a check. He tossed out 700 and was called.

A 2,000 bet from Krishnan was enough on the {7-Hearts} river to see his opponent check-fold his hand.

Carrel Caught Out

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

It folded around to Charlie Carrel on the button and he brought it in for a raise to 600. The big blind defended and the two of them went the {3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop.

It was checked to Carrel and he continued for 700. The big blind called and the {6-Clubs} fell on the turn. After another check from the big blind Carrel kept up the aggression by betting 1,800. His bet was called again and the {9-Hearts} rolled off on the river.

A final check from the big blind prompted a question from Carrel.

“How much do I have to bet to get you to fold ace-five?” Carrel asked.

The two of them shared a laugh before Carrel decided on 4,900.

“It’ll only cost you one chip, and you’ll get one back as well” Carrel added.

The big blind called it off and Carrel tabled {k-Hearts}{5-Spades} for nothing but king high, well behind his opponent’s {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

Wong Doubles

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Following a short-stacked shove from a player in middle position Aussie Millions 2012 runner-up Ken Wong moved all-in over the top for his last 11,225 – slightly over the 11,000 his opponent had shipped for.

Wong’s {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} was ahead of his opponent’s {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and stayed that way when the board ran out {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{a-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and he doubled to 23,000 while his opponent hit the rail.

Glazier Flushes Grigg

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a board of {2-Spades}{q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades} Tom Grigg checked from the small blind before Jackie Glazier bet out 4,200 from middle position. Tim English was also in the hand but opted to muck. Grigg called before both players checked the {3-Spades} on the river.

Glazier quickly turned over {k-Spades}{10-Spades} for a flush and took down the pot after Grigg mucked his hand.

Small One For Drinan

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Tristan Bain kicked things off with a preflop raise to 600 and Connor Drinan made the call from the button. The player in the big blind defended and the three of them went to a flop of {9-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}.

The action was checked around before the dealer turned the {2-Hearts}.

Two more checks saw Drinan take a stab at it for 1,000. The big blind called and with Bain out of the way the {j-Spades} river was revealed. A final check from the big blind meant the action was back on Drinan and after readjusting his sunglasses he flipped over {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a rivered pair of jacks.

That was seemingly good as the big blind mucked and the pot was awarded to Drinan.

Tan In Pole Positon

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Jay Tan
Jay Tan

Hong Kong’s Jay Tan is emerging as the current Day 3 frontrunner and is sitting pretty on a veritable mountain of chips.

Tan padded out her stack still further at the expense of a tablemate who opened the action from middle position with a raise to 700 with Tan making the call from the big blind.

Both players checked the {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop and after Tan checked once more on the {k-Hearts} turn her opponent led out for 1,000. Tan reached for raising chips and bumped it up to 2,300. That was enough to take it down and Tan scoops yet another pot and looks to have close to 95,000.

Three Kings For Fast

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

There was around 9,500 in the pot when we arrived at the table with the cards spread {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Three players were active and after both the small blind and another tablemate checked their options, it was then on Fast to speak in the cutoff.

Fast decided on a bet of 5,500 which was snapped off by the small blind, and after 30 seconds the third party also called it off.

Tabling {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for a flopped three of a kind Fast had his opponents beat and added a healthy pot to his stack.

Tollerene Chops

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

While he may have had three final tables to his name already for 2017 for close to US$400,000 in tournament winnings for the year (and it’s only January) Ben Tollerene is enduring a slow start to his Aussie Millions Main Event.

Tollerene has been sitting close to starting stack for the majority of the day and that’s not changed any after just chopping a pot with a tablemate.

After action folded around to Tollerene on the button, he elected to open for 700 with both blinds making the call.

The dealer spread a flop of {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades} which brought checks from both small and big blind and after thinking it over Tollerene continuation bet 1,200.

While the small blind gets out of the way the big blind was going nowhere and tossed in the call to take play heads-up to the {a-Diamonds} turn.

The big blind checked for the second time and Tollerene fired out a second bet, this time for 2,600, which is again called by the player in the big blind bringing the action to the {8-Hearts} river.
After the big blind checked for the third time Tollerene looked to be thinking about betting but decided against it and checked it back, rolling over {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The big blind looked relieved and promptly tabled his own {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a chop meaning Tollerene is still hovering on around 28,000.
