Engel Busts Blight

It only took a few hands before the board came {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. Craig Blight had {5-}{6-} and Ari Engel took it down with {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the higher straight. Engel was the first to advance to the finals and is now awaiting his opponent, the American will start the showdown for the LK Boutique ring and first-place payout of A$51,230.

Next Upset in the Quarter Final

The duel that started with the biggest difference in chips took the longest to finish. Ari Engel scored a crucial double up with {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} by turning trips fours and then flipped for the semi final with {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

Errolyn Strang had shoved with {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} and flopped an ace on {2-Spades}{4-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}, but the {5-Spades} on the turn gave Engel a straight. An insignificant {5-Diamonds} river ended the last heads-up duel in favor of the American.

Cook Makes The Cut

Greg Cook
Greg Cook

Cameron Couch moved all-in pre-flop holding {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and was called by Greg Cook holding {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} giving Couch the lead. He was confident until the turn card fell, bringing the {10-Diamonds} to give Greg Cook a set of Tens. The river card was the wrong repeat, bringing the {3-Clubs} to give Cook a full house and send him into the semi-finals.
