Brian Rast raised to 9,000 under the gun holding the and Fedor Holz called from the button with the . Jason Mercier then three-bet to 24,500 from the big blind with the , both his opponents called, and an action flop came down in the .
Mercier bet 23,000, Rast called with top pair, and Holz tanked, even using one of his time extensions, before moving all in for 48,500. Mercier then shoved all in over the top for 97,000, and Rast hit the tank. Rast used both of his time bank chips — which won't refresh today — before making the call.
Holz was ahead in the main pot, while Mercier led the side. The turn was of no consequence, but the river was as Mercier spiked a bigger flush to scoop both pots.
Holz was eliminated on the hand but opted to reenter straight away.

Jason Koon opened the cutoff to 10,000 and Igor Kurganov on the button made the call. Sam Greenwood squeezed to 35,000 from the small blind and the big blind (Holz) and Koon both folded. Kurganov made the call.
Greenwood checked on and Kurganov checked behind. We saw something similar on the turn and the hit the river. Greenwood checked again and Kurganov tanked for a bit. His 30 seconds were almost up when he tossed in a time breaker chip to get one more minute.
He eventually checked behind and Greenwood showed for the ace-high flush. Kurganov silently mucked.

Igor Kurganov has opted to reenter for a fifth time. That's a lot of dough, but it's still one off the record, which was set two years ago when Isaac Haxton reentered this very tournament six times!

Martin Jacobson opened for 9,000 from the hijack and was met by a three-bet to 25,000 from Jason Koon in the small blind. Igor Kurganov then called off his last 12,000 from the big, Jacobson got out of the way, and the cards were turned up.
Kurganov:
Koon:
Kurganov needed some help to stay alive, but he was left wanting as the board ran out a dry . Kurganov busted the $100K Challenge for a fourth time, and he has until the end of this level to decide whether or not he wants to fire a fifth bullet, which would pretty much use up the money he won when he finished runner-up in the $25K Challenge a couple nights back.

Igor Kurganov raised to 9,000 from the cutoff and Sam Greenwood on the button stared at his chips. He counted how much he had left (111,000 after an earlier encounter that had cost him half his stack) and with about 10 seconds left he decided to make it 24,000.
Both blinds released and action was back on Kurganov. Kurganov thought about it for a bit, tossed in a time breaker chip to add a minute to his tank, and eventually shoved all in. Greenwood instantly called. Kurganov could only roll his eyes and sigh.
Igor Kurganov:
Sam Greenwood:
The flop did nothing for Kurganov. Although the on the turn gave Greenwood a flush draw on top of his already leading outs, it resulted in at least a chopportunity for Kurganov.
It wasn't meant to be as the hit the river and Kurganov was left with just 3.5 big blinds.
