After more than 10 hours of play, Canada's Jonathan "chut_up" Van Fleet won the $2,100 Event #28: $350,000 Super XL - High Roller For $87,290. The event attracted no less than 203 players for a total prize pool of $406,000.
Some of the best tournament players in the poker world registered to the event, and well-known pros like Ole "olekonjole" Schemion, Nicolas "PKaiser" Fierro and Christopher "NigDawg" Brammer had a go at the most expensive tournament of the Super XL series, but all without the necessary luck to make a deep run.
The eventual final table was, however, by no means lacking household names. The number one ranked online tournament player in the world, Niklas "tutten7" Astedt, were long in contention for the title, but would eventually succumb to an 8th place finish outlasting only Britain's "LAP1215" on the final table.
Costa Rican player "JAB888" was next to bust before the former EPT winner Frederik "Poelsetyv" Jensen followed suit in 6th place good for a $20,300 finish.
Shortly after Marton "WorldIsOurs" Czuczor fell to the ace-jack of Fabrizio "DrMiKee" Gonzalez before Romanian "glezna23" were sent to the rail in a coin flip against Jonathan "chut_up" Van Fleet.
Even though Gonzalez knocked out Bernardo "bsdias" Dias in third place, Van Fleet still held the chiplead as the players started heads up play. In the very first hand, Gonzalez managed to level the playing field by doubling up with ace-seven against the pair of treys of Van Fleet, but chut_up took back the lead immediately and never looked back.
In the final hand the king-seven of Van Fleet held up against the queen-jack of his opponent, and king high was enough to secure the victory and the $87,290 on top.
Fabrizio "DrMiKee" Gonzalez limped the button and called the all-in shove from Jonathan "chut_up" Van Fleet. The of Van Fleet was ahead of Gonzalez' , and even though the Uruguayan player picked up additional outs on the flop, the turn and the river didn't change that, and Gonzalez was eliminated in 2nd place.
Jonathan "chut_up" Van Fleet opened the action to 70,000 from first position and Romania's "glezna23" reraised to 190,000 from the very next position. Van Fleet put his opponent all-in for 1,112,733 chips effective, and "glezna23" made the call.

The flop didn't improve the ace-queen of "glezna23", and turn struck disaster for the Romanian player as Van Fleet made a set. The hand was over, but the river completed the board for good meassure before "glezna23" was eliminated in 4th place.
The action was folded around to Marton "WorldIsOurs" Czuczor on the button, and he opted to shove all-in for 514,415. Fabrizio "DrMiKee" Gonzalez moved in over the top in the very next seat and Jonathan "chut_up" Van Fleet folded the big blind.

The board ran out , and Gonzalez' hand held up to eliminate Czuczor in 5th place.
Frederik "Poelsetyv" Jensen shoved all-in for 330,580 from the button and "glezna23" reraised to 616,160 from the small blind. Bernardo "bsdias" Dias got out of the way, and Jensen's needed some help against the of "glezna23".
The brought both a pair and a flushdraw for the Dane, but neither the on the turn or the on the river completed the hand of Jensen, and was eliminated in 6th place.
After the big clash against Marton "WorldIsOurs" Czuczor, "JBA888" was left decimated, and despite a quick double he was eliminated shortly after. The Costa Rican shoved all-in for 80.856 over a raise from "glezna23", and both Czuczor and "glezna23" called.
On a flop of "glezna23" bet 88,000, Czuczor folded and the hands were shown.

"JBA888":
The board was completed by the on the turn and the on the river, and "JBA888" was eliminated in 7th place.
"LAP1215" made it 60,000 to go from the hijack and "glezna23" jammed all-in for a total of 401,574 chips. "LAP1215" called off his 290,858 chips with , and they were in very good shape against the of "glezna23".
A deuce on the flop changed that equation however, and when the board ran out the British player exited in 9th.
A flurry of eliminations saw Richard "WhosToClaim" Trigg (12th place), "pimmelspeck" (11th place) and "hatorrihanz" (10th place) bust from the tournament, and thus only nine players remain in this $2,100 Super XL High Roller.
Here are current chip counts of the final table players.
The action was folded around to Scott "AggroSantos" Margereson in small blind who wasted no time on moving all-in for 109,319. Niklas "tutten7" Astedt in big blind considered his options before committing the chips, and the hands were shown.

Astedt:
The flop spelled bad news for Margereson, and once the on the turn rolled off, it was all but over. The needless river was a , and the Swede raked in the pot while Margereson was eliminated in 18th place.
Pascal "Paeffchen" Hartmann is the bubble boy at this Event #28 $350,000 Gurantee - High Roller at the 2017 Super XL Series on 888poker.
Preflop Hartmann got his 20 big blinds in with , but the aggressive Fabrizio "DrMiKee" Gonzalez had found this time around, and the aces held up for the big pot.
After that pot Gonzalez is by far the biggest stack, with almost twice as much as Marton "WorldIsOurs" Czuczor in second place.
