Kotoviezy Can't Pull the Trigger

Our one time, accidental, start of the day chip leader has been slipping as of late. We caught Dayane Kotoviezy involved in a pot with another player where she opened to 9,000 from early position. She was called by the player in the big blind.
On the 
flop, the big blind checked then quickly called a bet of 10,500 from Kotoviezy.
The turn was the 
and the big blind checked again. Kotoviezy put out a bet of 16,000. The big blind called quickly again.
On the 
river the big blind checked a third time. Kotoviezy slowed down and checked behind, opting not to fire a third bullet. The big blind showed 
and that was good enough to take down the pot as Kotoviezy mucked.

Junior Viana Emerges as a Chip Leader

We missed the preflop action but a big pot erupted at the feature table that thrust Junior Viana into the chip lead with over 500,000 chips. Viana was holding 
against another opponents 
for a pot worth over 250,000.
The board rolled out 
and that made Viana's pair of kings best and allowed him to take over the chip lead from his neighbor Sandro Santos, who has slipped from where he once was at the top of the leaderboard.

Alencar Slips a Bit, but Recovers

We caught up with Patricia Alencar who has had a bit of a rough level, losing more than half her stack already since coming back from dinner. In a recent hand she was involved in with one player she managed to recover some of her lost chips.

and there were already roughly 20,000 chips in the pot after a raise and a call preflop. Both players checked to see the

and Alencar's opponent was first to act from the small blind. He put out a bet of 10,000 but Alencar decided to put in a raise. She made it 23,000. Her opponent thought for a while, then eventually decided to fold and that allowed Alencar to take down the pot and recover a few chips.

Ramos Put on The Shortest of Short Stacks

Felipe Ramos opened with a raise on the button to 9,000. Next to act was Gustavo Monteiro who reraised, making it 28,000. Action folded back to Ramos and he shoved all in for right around 145,000. Monteiro didn't take long to call.
