In 90 minutes from now as of 5 p.m. local time, at least 31 players out of a 65-entry strong field will return to the tables of Casino Barcelona for Day 2 of the 2017 888Live Barcelona Poker Festival €2,200 High Roller. The initial guarantee of €50,000 has already been more than doubled, and the registration for all those that busted on Day 1 will remain open until the cards are back in the air.

Among those expected to join back in with a stack of 100,000 for level 11 and blinds of 2,500/5,000 and a running ante of 500 are Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi and Patrik Antonius, while all other players that failed to bag up chips may also return for more action to take a shot at the juicy prize pool.

Leading the field thus far is local player Sergi Escote with 811,000, and the Spaniard has established a decent lead over Peter Jaksland (475,500), Aleksei Istomin (441,000), as well as the two Scotsmen Fraser MacIntyre (426,000) and Gordon Huntly (405,000). MacIntyre is the CEO of MainEventTravel, 888Live’s Official Travel Partner for the festival offering great hotel deals in Barcelona.

Other notables above average for Day 2 include 888Live Rozvadov Main Event champion Catalin Pop (353,000), and Ema Zajmovic (238,500). Furthermore, Daragh Davey (158,000), 888poker ambassador Bruno "Foster" Politano (114,500), Josep Maria Galindo Lopez (112,500), Guillem Cusco Bach (100,000) and Harcharan Dogra Dogra (100,000), Kimmo Kurko (95,500) and Aku Joentausta (70,500) are still in contention.

The tournament is scheduled to play down to a winner tonight and all levels last 45 minutes each, there will be a break every three levels.
