Morawiec Scoops a Big One with the Doyle Brunson

Nível 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Martin Morawiec
Martin Morawiec

Martin Morawiec, Junhyoung Ki, Vitaliy Kryza and Pawel Zawadowicz limped in from under the gun, middle position, the button and small blind respectively. Kai Penzersinski checked his option in the big blind.

Action checked to Morawiec on the 1072 flop, and he bet 1,500. Ki and Kryza called before Zawadowicz made it 9,000. Penzersinski folded while the remaining players called to make a sizeable pot.

Zawadowicz bet 20,000 on the 5 turn. Morawiec called off his last 9,200. Ki also put in his last 6,200. Kryza called the original bet, leaving him 19,000 behind.

The 8 completed the board. Kryza open-folded his 98 after facing a 10,000 river bet.

A series of cards then went on their back.

Junhyoung Ki: K10
Martin Morawiec: 102
Pawel Zawadowicz: 75

Morawiec had the winner, as his two pair was better than Zawadowicz's. Ki just had a pair of tens and was eliminated. Morawiec took the main pot while Zawadowicz received a small rebate from the side pot.

Le Dantec Building Momentum

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Romain Le Dantec
Romain Le Dantec

Levent Efe opened to 800 from the hijack and was called by Manuel Schnur and Romain Le Dantec from the button and big blind.

Action checked to Schnur on the Q54 flop, and he bet 1,600. Le Dantec raised to 4,600. Efe got out of the way, and Schnur pondered for a moment before calling.

Schnur called a bet of 7,200 on the A turn, which saw the 6 river come onto the felt. Le Dantec moved all in for 16,900, which sent Schnur into the tank. Schnur asked for a count while having a confused look on his face.

Schnur eventually called only to see that he was beat as his 53 was bested by Le Dantec's Q4, which was good for two pair.

Le Dantec then took in the next pot after three-betting from the small blind, which saw the original raiser fold.

A few hands later, Nolan Curatolo opened to 1,000 from under the gun before Aliaksandr Shylko three-bet to 3,000 from the hijack. Le Dantec then made it 7,500 from the cutoff. Curatolo and Shylko folded their hands.

Le Dantec has found success at King's Resort in Rozvadov before. Two years ago, he took down Event #13: €10,000 NLH 6-Max for €207,267 and his first WSOP bracelet.

Le Dantec overcame the likes of Sonny Franco, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Sirzat Hissou at the final table.

Mir Catches Curatolo Speeding

Nível 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Nolan Curatolo
Nolan Curatolo

Nolan Curatolo seat was empty on Table 95. Dimitrios Katsikas, Stuart Rutter and Francisco Mir recapped the hand that may raise a few eyebrows.

Curatolo opened to 600 from early position, with Rutter and Mir calling from the button and small blind.

Mir checked on the AJ4 flop before Curatolo continued for 700. Rutter and Mir called.

Curatolo then sized up to 4,500 on the 2 turn and saw both opponents call once more. A J completed the board, and Curatolo fired out 20,000, which left him with about 4,000 behind. Rutter folded while Mir, in the small blind, also took his time, but he decided to call.

Curatolo then instantly mucked his cards and Mir took the pot without a showdown. Mir told PokerNews he had 52.

"So strong. King-queen, king-ten of hearts. Something like that," a tablemate asked Curatolo, who remained silent as Mir stacked up the big pot.

A few hands later, Curatolo was eliminated.

Evgheni Toporas
Evgheni Toporas

Evgheni Toporas opened to 600 from the hijack and was called by Felix Kretschmann and Florin Bilan from the button and the big blind.

Toporas continued for 1,200 on the 767 flop before Kretschmann out in the raise to 3,600. Bilan got out of the way and Toporas called.

Toporas checked on the 4 turn, prompting Kretschmann to fire out another 9,600, leaving roughly 16,000 behind. Toporas jammed as the bigger stack and Kretschmann snap-called for his tournament life.

Felix Kretschmann: A7
Evgheni Toporas: 44

Kretschmann had trips but the turn improved Toporas to a full house to become the huge favorite. The river had other ideas though as the 7 peeled off onto the felt to Kretschmann quads for the double up.

Event #9: WSOPE NLH €1,100 Mystery Bounty Begins at 4 p.m.

Matt Glantz at WSOP 2022
Matt Glantz at WSOP 2022

Welcome to Day 1 of Event #9: WSOPE NLH €1,100 Mystery Bounty, which kicks off inside King's Resort in Rozvadov at 4 p.m. local time.

This is the first time that a Mystery Bounty event has been scheduled for the World Series of Poker Europe, and plenty of players are chomping at the bit to get involved in this unique tournament format.

What are Mystery Bounty Poker Tournaments?

In traditional bounty or progressive knockout poker tournaments, players receive a cash prize when they eliminate an opponent. When they secure a knockout in these events, they know how much their bounty prize is. In Mystery Bounty tournaments, the prize for busting a player is unknown.

The bounty prizes are in play in regular bounty tournaments from the start. However, in Mystery Bounty poker tournaments, the bounty element becomes active at a later stage, usually on Day 2 of the event’s schedule, which is the case for this event.

How Do Mystery Bounty Poker Tournaments Work?

Players receive a mystery bounty token from each player they eliminate in a live mystery bounty. Those players exchange their tokens for mystery bounty envelopes at the prize chest/tombola. Each envelope contains a mystery bounty prize, where the prizes could range from a few hundred dollars to a life-changing sum of money.

At the 2022 WSOP, Matt Glantz pulled the $1 million bounty prize in the Million Dollar Bounty. The following month, Scott Ball also banked a seven-figure payday after being awarded the top mystery bounty prize in the 2022 WSOP Online.

Day 1 Structure

The plan for Day 1 is to play 14x40-minute levels, with a break coming after the completion of every three levels. Players will need to have chips in front of them when the day is complete to make it through to tomorrow's session. Late registration closes after Level 12 plays out.

As mentioned, the bounties come into play from Day 2, so the first stage of the event will run as a regular poker tournament.

For the €1,100 buy-in, €700 goes into the regular prize pool, while €300 goes towards bounty prizes. The remainder goes to the house. Each entry will also have a 30,000 starting stack.
