Day 2 of the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe €10,350 Main Event is about to start at 12 p.m. local time, with the 113 survivors from Day 1a and the 166 from Day 1b all combined in the same field. The total number of entries is 446 so far, out of which the 279 are still in the field. Two familiar names topped the two starting flights in the chipcounts, Alex Foxen (537,200) after Day 1a and Kahle Burns (497,200) after Day 1b, with those two occupying the first two spots of the total counts, too. A lot of other well-known names are still in the field, such as Shaun Deeb (345,300), Anatoly Filatov (270,000), Jeff Madsen (262,600), Joao Vieira (240,000), Julien Martini (220,000), Daniel Negreanu (167,600), and many more.

The schedule for today is to play six levels with a 15-minute break after each level and a 60-minute break after Level 11. The late registration and reentry period will close after the completion of Level 12, at approximately 22:20 on Day 2.

Schulze Doubles Through Sinclair

Nível 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Felix Schulze
Felix Schulze

Last year WSOP Europe Main Event champion Jack Sinclair has got off to a rocky start on Day 2 and it's all thanks to Felix Schulze. On a board reading {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts} with around 65,000 chips already in the middle, Schulze and Sinclair got the rest of their stacks in the middle after a couple of raises.

Sinclair opened {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights while Schulze held {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The river brought the {9-Clubs} and Schulze made a straight to double up through Schulze. The all-in amount was for 88,400 and Sinclair was forced to slide over the majority of his stack.

Hellmuth Loses a Big Chunk

Nível 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth raised it up in middle position and was called by Siarhei Chudapal in the big blind. The flop fell {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Chudapal check-called a bet of 7,000 from Hellmuth.

The turn brought the {a-Hearts} and Chudapal checked again. Hellmuth announced a bet of 22,000 and Chudapal check-raised to 45,000. Hellmuth instantly called and the {2-Spades} completed the board. Chudapal shoved all in, putting Hellmuth to the test for his remaining 40,000 chips. Hellmuth dumped his cards to the muck and Chudapal dragged in the pot.

Defending Champion Sinclair Falls

Nível 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Jack Sinclair
Jack Sinclair

Jack Sinclair limped in on the button and Anton Morgenstern opted to complete his small blind. Eyal Bensimhon decided to check.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}, they all checked through to the {5-Clubs} on the turn. Morgenstern checked, Bensimhon bet 3,500 and only Sinclair called.

The river completed the board with the {9-Spades}, Bensimhon shoved and Sinclair tanked for a while and then made the call with {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for two pair, tens and fives. Bensimhon tabled {2-}{2-} for the flopped full house to send the defending champion to the rail.

Flush Over Flush Double for Sammartino

Nível 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Joining the action on the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Dario Sammartino bet 15,000 and Vladimir Peck moved all in, Sammartino instantly called.

Dario Sammartino: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Vladimir Peck: {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The {4-Clubs} turn and {6-Hearts} river were a formality as Sammartino scored a massive double for 273,300. Peck took a major hit to his stack but remains above the average.

"I guess I could have made it 60, but doesn't change anything. I still have 200, that's okay," Peck said in table chat once he had paid off Sammartino.

Vogelsang Hero-Calls and Busts

Nível 9 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Christoph Vogelsang was in the turn of a {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{q-Spades} board, facing an all in from Martin Winkler who was covering the German player.

Vogelsang tanked for a long time, prompting a player from the table to ask for time and as soon as the floor manager reached the table, Vogelsang pushed all his remaining chips in the middle.

Christoph Vogelsang: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Martin Winkler: {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

"I bluffed the flop but found a queen on the turn", is what Winkler said to his opponent when the dealer opened the {10-Clubs} to send Vogelsang packing.

Morgenstern Flops a Set to Eliminate Bensimhon

Nível 9 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Eyal Bensimhon
Eyal Bensimhon

The action folded to Dragos Trofimov who made it 6,000 to go on the button. Anton Morgenstern called in the small blind and Eyal Bensimhon three-bet to 24,000 in the big blind. Both Trofimov and Morgenstern called to see a flop of {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

Morgenstern checked to Bensimhon who bet 40,000 and Trofimov folded. Morgenstern check-raised to 88,000 and Bensimhon ripped all in for around 270,000. Morgenstern snap-called and the cards were tabled.

Anton Morgenstern: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Eyal Bensimhon: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Morgenstern flopped a set of eights and Bensimhon was drawing extremely slim. The {8-Diamonds} on the turn gave Morgenstern quads and the {3-Clubs} on the river was just a formality.

Mirzikinian Shows a Bluff

Nível 10 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Warwick Mirzikinian
Warwick Mirzikinian

Picking up the action on the five-way turn of {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Warwick Mirzikinian in the small blind check-raised to 51,000 and Thomas Hammerl made the call from under the gun while David "ODB" Baker and Wuai Tsang had folded.

Mirzikinian bet the {9-Clubs} river for 85,000 and that sent Hammerl deep into the think tank. After nearly three minutes he folded and Mirzikian first flashed the {8-Spades} followed by the {a-Hearts}.

"I had the best hand anyway," the Aussie joked in table chat.

Ensan Eliminated by Diaz

Nível 10 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Hossein Ensan
Hossein Ensan

Hossein Ensan walked towards the back of the tournament area and confirmed that he had been eliminated, his stack vanishing into thin air when his three-bet shove with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} for 92,000 in the cutoff was called by initial raiser Guillaume Diaz with ace-queen in the lowjack. A queen appeared on the flop and Ensan failed to catch a king or any heart to make his flush.

Diaz confirmed the hand and was then involved in a pot against Vlada Stojanovic shortly after.

Diaz raised to 6,000 in the cutoff and Vlada Stojanovic called on the button. They checked the {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop and Diaz check-called a bet of 11,000 on the {j-Hearts} turn. The {9-Spades} river was checked and Diaz tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, which Stojanovic had beat with the {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Rezaei Takes Out Grafton

Nível 11 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Daniel Rezaei opened to 7,000 in the hijack and was called by Robert Skopalik in the cutoff. Sam Grafton made it 120,000 on the button, leaving himself with just 11,500 behind. Rezaei just called and Skopalik got out of the way.

The flop came {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and the two players splashed in the last remaining chips before the flop even hit the felt. Rezaei turned over {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} which was leading Grafton's {a-Spades}{8-Spades}. The {9-Spades} on the turn gave Grafton a flush draw.

"Oh, no," Skopalik piped up, who for some reason had a side he was cheering for.

The river was the {6-Hearts} and Grafton was eliminated after bricking out.

"Thank you," Skopalik turned to Rezaei and said.
