Nível 16 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Dominik Nitsche made it 1,250,000 from under the gun and was called by Paul Phua and Tony G in the blinds. The flop fell {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and the action checked around to the {j-Diamonds} on the turn.

Two more checks and Nitsche finally tossed in a bet of 2,000,000. Phua shipped all in for 9,625,000 which got quick folds from Tony G and Nitsche. Phua flashed the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights as he collected the pot.

Nitsche Takes Over the Lead

Nível 16 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

Dominik Nitsche limped the button with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and James Chen in the small blind raised it up to 2,500,000 with the {10-Spades}{7-Spades}, which Nitsche called. The flop brought {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Chen made it 1,700,000 to go, Nitsche double-checked his cards and made the call.

Chen also bet the {a-Spades} turn for 4,000,000 and Nitsche called with his top pair. The {3-Diamonds} on the river brought no betting action as Nitsche checked behind and took over the lead.

Chen had been the chip leader for a while, however, losing this pot cost him the lead and Nitsche assumed control over the table.

Ryan Riess opened to 1,250,000 on the button without his cards being shown and Tony G jammed the small blind for 15,400,000 with {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}, which won the pot. It was the second hand that Tony G claimed as he stole the blinds in the previous hand with a raise from under the gun, holding the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

Katz Doubles Through Nitsche

Nível 17 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Dominik Nitsche raised to 1,300,000 with the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Cary Katz three-bet all in for 7,900,000 with the {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, no call followed.

Nitsche then made it 1,300,000 to go with {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Katz called in the small blind with the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. The flop brought {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Katz quickly checked, Nitsche bet 2,000,000 and that won the pot right there.

The very next hand, Nitsche opened to 1,300,000 with the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Katz jammed for 9,400,000 with {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}. Ryan Riess in the big blind had a brief decision with the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and folded, Nitsche called.

Katz flopped top pair on {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Nitsche then picked up a lot of outs with the {5-Diamonds} turn. A blank {6-Spades} river completed the board and Katz doubled to remain in contention.
