A Final Table and Day 2 for Shaun Deeb today
A Final Table and Day 2 for Shaun Deeb today

Yet another event of the 2018 World Series of Poker Europe is one step closer to crowning a champion at Europe's biggest poker arena in the King's Casino in Rozvadov. After 15 levels of 40 minutes each on Day 1, Event #7: €2,200 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed generated a field of 187 entries and 35 players advanced to Day 2 with the top 29 spots paid.

Six players will miss out on a portion of the €358,853 prize pool and the early action is expected to be considerate and accelerate once the money bubble has burst. Leading the field into Day 2 is Hong Kong's Anson Tsayng with 931,000, followed by Ilya Bulychev with 748,000 and Quan Zhou (480,000). Other big stacks in the top 10 include Aaron Duczak (307,000), Daniel Rezaei (302,000) and Ryan Riess (259,000).

Shaun Deeb will multi-table as of 3 p.m. local time if he still has chips left over in the PLO Event, as he made the final table of Event #6 as third in chips. The redraw has Deeb's seat not far away from the feature table and the 2018 WSOP Player of the year contender number one will recommence Day 2 with 208,000. Other notables still in contention include Jan-Peter Jachtmann (224,000), Jason Gray (179,000), Chris Ferguson (171,000), Anthony Zinno (166,000), Chin Wei Lim (130,000), Roland Israelashvili (113,000), James Chen (95,000) and Allen Kessler (74,000).

The level duration for Day 2 increases to 60 minutes and the blinds will kick off at 3,000/6,000, the penultimate tournament day will conclude once there are eight players remaining. Make sure to tune back in as PokerNews will be your one-stop shop for the remainder of the WSOPE festival at King's Casino.

Shuts Doubles; Engelke and Keijzer Bust

Willm Engelke
Willm Engelke

Maksim Shuts doubled through Ronald Keijzer for 46,000 when he got it in preflop with the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and held up through Keijzer's {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. The board came {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Shuts held up, leaving Keijzer on just 20,000.

Soon after at the same table, Willm Engelke was eliminated by Ludvig Sterner and Keijzer followed suit to make it 30 players remaining. Action will recommence shortly on the stone-cold money bubble.

Jachtmann Calls After Long Tank on the Bubble

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Jan-Peter Jachtmann
Jan-Peter Jachtmann

Jan-Peter Jachtmann started the party with a raise to 16,000 from early position. Everyone got out of the way, except for Daniel Rezaei in the big blind.

The flop came down {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and both players checked to unveil the {J-Spades} turn. Rezaei checked again and this time Jachtmann fired out a bet of 18,000. Rezaei called and the {9-Spades} river card completed the board.

Rezaei checked again and Jachtmann put in a bet of 35,000. Rezaei decided to announce pot and that meant he put Jachtmann all in for effectively 130,000. Jachtmann went into the tank for approximately eight minutes before calling it off.

Rezaei opened up {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for two pair and Jachtmann showed {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

"That's a very unusual line you took" said Jachtmann to Rezaei. Rezaei responded with "I would've done the same with the nuts".

Tomasz Gluszko was all in and at risk on the money bubble and he got it all in with {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. He had to win against the {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} of Zoltan Szabo.

The board was dealt {5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and Gluszko was eliminated from the tournament. All the other players left in the tournament are guaranteed to take home at least €3,147.

Shuts and Lyubovetskiy Eliminated

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Andriy Lyubovetskiy
Andriy Lyubovetskiy

Maksim Shuts flopped a pair and back door diamond draw against Ilya Bulychev on a baord of {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}, but the Russian prevailed with a flopped set of eights as Shuts only made two pair, tens and nines.

Next to go was Andriy Lyubovetskiy, who was ousted by Daniel Rezaei.

Lyubovetskiy bet the pot for 58,000 on the {10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop and shoved the {5-Diamonds} turn for around 70,000, Rezaei called.

Andriy Lyubovetskiy: {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Daniel Rezaei: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}

The {A-Diamonds} river gave Rezaei a winning flush and Lyubovetskiy left with some swear words in his native language.

Michal Schuh Eliminated in 24th Place (€3,518)

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Michal Schuh
Michal Schuh

Shaun Deeb had arrived back in his seat on a short break from the feature table and raised the pot. Michal Schuh jammed for 80,000 from one seat over and Deeb called.

Michal Schuh: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Shaun Deeb: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The flop came {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Deeb made two pair. He turned that into a full house with the {7-Spades} and the {9-Diamonds} river was a blank to eliminate Schuh in 24th place for €3,518.

"Alright guys, see you later," Deeb joked and ran back up the stairs to the feature table.

Eemil Tuominen Eliminated in 23rd Place (€3,518)

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Eemil Tuominen
Eemil Tuominen

A short-stacked Eemil Tuominen was all in and at risk from under the gun and Ryan Riess looked him up out of the big blind.

Eemil Tuominen: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Ryan Riess: {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Tuominen made top set, he said "good flop."

That all but changed with the {10-Diamonds} turn, which prompted the Finn to add a rather dry "bad turn," and he failed to regain the lead on a blank {9-Clubs} river to bow out in 23rd place for €3,518.

Chris Ferguson Eliminated in 22nd Place (€3,518)

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson

Chris Ferguson opened the action with a raise to 20,000 from middle position and he was called by both Anson Tsang from the cutoff and Daniel Rezaei from the button.

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Ferguson continued with a bet of 70,000, just below the size of the pot. Tsang called, but Rezaei sent his cards to the muck.

The turn card was the {A-Diamonds} and Ferguson moved all in for his last twenty big blinds. Tsang called and they opened up their hands.

Ferguson was playing {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} and Tsang was holding {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The river card was the {3-Hearts} and that meant that Ferguson was eliminated from the tournament. Ferguson got 29th in this event last year and he was able to better that score by finishing 22nd for €3,518.

Shaun Deeb Eliminated in 20th Place (€3,518)

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

"Just give me a big pot," Shaun Deeb said when he returned to his seat after a break on the feature table and was set in the small blind. A big pot indeed emerged in a battle of the blinds with Ludvig Sterner and the duo got the stacks in on a {K-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} with Deeb at risk for around 190,000.

Shaun Deeb: {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Ludvig Sterner: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}

The {9-Hearts} turn and {8-Clubs} river failed to improve Deeb and he was eliminated in 20th place for €3,518, he can now fully focus on the final table in Event #6.
