The board read and both James Akenhead and John Racener were involved in the hand. James Akenhead tabled for ace-jack high but Racener had for ace-queen high which was good enough to win the hand.
Jeff Cormier raised to 1,300 from the cutoff and was called by the player in the small blind and Robert Auer in the big blind.
The flop came , the blinds checked when Cormier bet 2,400. The player in the small blind called and Auer folded.
They both checked through the on the turn. The on the river completed the board, now the small blind bet 2,000. Cormier looked at his cards and the board again, grabbed the chips he needed to make the call and made the call. His opponent showed for two pair, fours and threes, which was enough for Cormier to muck his cards, but was left with a more than healthy stack in front of him.
The players have just left their seats to go for their 60-minute dinner break. When they return they will be playing with a small blind of 300, a big blind of 600 and a running ante of 100.
The tournament organization has decided that play will end after Level 12 today, which means that Day 2 will start tomorrow on Level 13 which has a small blind of 1,200, a big blind of 2,400 and a running ante of 400. Registration will stay open until the start of Day 2 tomorrow.
Pedro Olivieira was down to 11,000 earlier today but has been climbing towards the top of the chip counts over the past levels.
The player in the cutoff raised to 1,300. The button three-bet to 4,200 but Olivieira, in the small blind, four-bet to 11,000. The cutoff folded and the button called.
The flop came and Olivieira continued for 9,500. His opponent folded and Olivieira continued to add to his stack.
