Day 1 of Event #4: €1,650 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed is in the books after twelve 40-minute long levels and 70 players remain from the 237 that started today. The registration and reentry period is open until the start of Day 2 at 2 p.m. local time tomorrow so more players could be joining the field tomorrow.
Bagging the chip lead was Ryan Leng (239,500), he already has 24 cashes in WSOP events and one WSOP Circuit ring and is now looking to win his first bracelet. Second in the chip counts is Dmitrii Deviatov (232,700) and third is Vincent Moscati with 214,900.
Other big stacks include Walter Treccarichi (211,600), Jan Subik (209,300), Bernard Larabi (209,200) and Michael Sklenicka (191,500). Also, still in are Martin Kabrhel, Sander van Wesemael, Sergio Fernandez, Erik Cajelais, Phil Hellmuth, Anthony Zinno, Ryan Hughes, Kristen Bicknell, Kenny Hallaert and Chris Ferguson.
Unfortunately, not everyone could make it through the day, new bracelet winners Oleksandr Shcherbak and Andreas Klatt won’t be adding another bracelet to their collection yet. John Racener, Alex Foxen, Mike Leah, Kevin MacPhee are some of the players that have fallen at the hurdle.

Martin Kabrhel is the newest member of the group of people that can call themselves a WSOP Bracelet winner. He was crowned the winner in the Turbo Bounty Hunter about 19 hours ago at 5 a.m. He only just joined the field and has already doubled up. Anthony Zinno has also joined the field late, while Brandon Cantu and Jeff Cormier have just reentered.
Jeff Cormier raised to 1,300 from the cutoff and was called by the player in the small blind and Robert Auer in the big blind.
The flop came , the blinds checked when Cormier bet 2,400. The player in the small blind called and Auer folded.
They both checked through the on the turn. The on the river completed the board, now the small blind bet 2,000. Cormier looked at his cards and the board again, grabbed the chips he needed to make the call and made the call. His opponent showed for two pair, fours and threes, which was enough for Cormier to muck his cards, but was left with a more than healthy stack in front of him.
After finishing second in the MONSTER STACK on Monday, Viliyan Petleshkov is back at the tables, looking for another great result here in Rozavadov.
He is currently seated at the same table as Allen Kessler, Pedro Olivieira and Alexander Lakhov.
The player on the button raised to 700 and Petleshkov, sitting in the small blind, called. The flop came , Petleshkov bet 1,300 and his opponent called.
The turn brought them the on which they both checked. The river completed the board with the , now Petleshkov bet 5,400. His opponent looked at his cards again and folded.
The board read , Erik Cajelais check-called the 600 bet of Kenny Hallaert. The on the river completed the board, Cajelais checked again. Now Hallaert bet 1,500 for Cajelais to call. Hallaert showed for two pair, eights and sevens. Cajelais mucked his hand and Hallaert started stacking up his chips.
Day 1 of Event #4: €1,650 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed is set to start today at 3 p.m. local time. Back in 2015 Makarios Avramidis did a lot of firsts. It was the first ever World Series of Poker bracelet to be awarded on German soil, it was his first ever bracelet and the first one for Greece. First prize was €105,000 but it was a €2,200 buy-in with 197 entries in total.
Avramidis hasn’t been spotted here yet but Paul Michaelis is here. He finished third last time so is expected to be playing today. The two other players who also made deep runs in 2015 and have already been playing here in King’s Casino are 6-times and 4-times bracelet winners, Jeff Lisandro and Max Pescatori. They will be taking their seats today to try and better their previous results.
The battle for Player of the Year is still going, after John Racener’s sixth place finish yesterday in the Turbo Bounty Hunter, he has an even better shot at top spot now. But Chris Ferguson, Ryan Hughes and Alex Foxen are not just going to stand by and watch. They will be fighting furiously too. Other expected notables expected in the field today include Felipe Ramos, Kristen Bicknell, Brandon Cantu, Erik Cajelais, James Akenhead, Maxim Lykov, Ryan Leng and Walter Treccarichi.
This is a three-day event, players entering the event will receive 30,000 in tournament chips. Levels will be 40 minutes long with a 20-minute break after every three levels today. Fourteen levels of play are scheduled for today with registration open through the whole day until Day 2 starts tomorrow at 2 p.m. local time with 1 reentry allowed during that period. A 60-minute dinner break will take place after Level 8 which will be around 9 p.m.
