Phil Hellmuth walked into the tournament area to take his seat with his sunglasses and headphones already on. Just moments after sitting down to the left of Sam Trickett, the two players got involved in a hand.
With around 350,000 in the pot on a board reading , Trickett led out for 150,000 from early position. Hellmuth announced a raise to 600,000 and Trickett took his time before making the call. The river landed the and both players checked. Trickett turned over for a pair of aces and Hellmuth tabled .
"Do I win?" Hellmuth asked with a smirk on his face. "Oh, he has a pair of aces," as the table all chuckled. "You're lucky you hit an ace or a king because I was going all the way. Today is going to be fun."
"It already is," added Adrian Mateos. He proceeded to three-bet Hellmuth in the next hand forcing him to fold. After the hand, Mateos mentioned he had ten-eight offsuit to rub some salt in the wound.
With the board completed at , Felipe Ramos had a bet 105,000 in front of him. Jack Sinclair check-raised to 450,000, which sent Ramos in the tank for several minutes. The Brazilian eventually emerged from it and opted for a three-bet to 1,100,000.
Sinclair raised an eyebrow, glossed over it for twenty seconds, then flicked in a T-500,000 chip to call.

Sinclair's full house bested Ramos' trip queens and the 2017 World Series of Poker Main Event final tablist (8th - $1,200,000) scooped up a nice pot.
One of the tables was chosen to be moved to the feature table and will be live-streamed throughout the course of Day 1. Some of the players to watch for include Borris Becker, Gus Hansen, Manig Loeser, and Sergio Aido.
Charlie Carrel raised to 32,000 from under the gun and was called by Claas Segebrecht in the cutoff and Dan Shak in the big blind. The flop came and Shak checked while Carrel continued for 40,000. Segebrecht called and Shak got out of the way.

The board read and Dario Sammartino checked from the small blind. Fedor Holz followed suit in early position and Vladimir Troyanovskiy bet 132,000 on the button into a pot of around 220,000. Sammartino called and Holz elected to fold.
The on the river completed the board and Sammartino checked again. Troyanovskiy bet 258,000 and Sammartino took some time to think before making the call. Troyanovskiy tabled for two pair and Sammartino mucked his hand.
