Karr Cannot Shrug Off Wade

We have a table 13, proving that there are no superstitions in Cannes when it comes to that supposedly unlucky number. It has a great line up of players as well. WSOPE Event #4 bracelet winner Tristan Wade is sat in seat two, Gabriel Nassif in seat three and then you have the trio of McLean Karr (seat six), John Racener (seat seven) and Maria Ho (seat eight). We just caught an all-American clash between Karr and Wade.

Karr opened up the action with a standard raise to 1,500 from late position and Wade defended his big blind. The final board ran out {Q-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} with Wade taking the check-call line and Karr doing the barrelling. The three bet sizes were 1,125 (flop), 2,250 (turn) and 2,975 (river) and Wade dragged in the pot.

Showdown

Wade{A-Clubs} {6-Clubs}
Karr{Q-Clubs} {J-}

"I was hoping you had used all of your run good," said Karr.

"It's still there," replied Wade.

"This is no shoot-out Tristan, no shoot-out," said Karr.

Vedes Chips Up with a Nice River

Tommy Vedes check-called 7,000 on the flop of {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} against Freddy Deeb before the {8-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Vedes and Deeb both checked fourth street and the river completed the board with the {A-Spades}. Vedes bet 10,500 and Deeb called.

Vedes tabled the {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for a rivered pair of aces. Deeb mucked and Vedes won the pot.

Traniello Watch

It is highly probable that Jennifer Harman and Marco Traniello are our only husband and wife act playing in the WSOPE main event Day 2. Harman has the biggest stack (41,925) with Traniello on (27,000) so they both have plenty of big blinds to play poker with.

Harman made a standard pre flop raise from first position and Jeffrey Hakim called in mid-position. The flop was {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and Harman bet 2,6000 with Hakim making the call. The turn {5-Spades} was checked through and the river was the {7-Clubs}. Harman bet 3,800 and Hakim folded his hand.

Shorr Up

Shannon Shorr has ditched the suit-and-tie look from Day 1, but he's still rocking the business casual attire with an unbuttoned blue dress shirt and a black jacket.

Shorr's wardrobe is working well for him this week, coming into the day with an above-average stack of around 77,000. And he's already improved that count. In the last hand, we watched Gianluca Speranza bet out 11,025 on the turn of a {4-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}. It was heads up, and Shorr spent some time considering before sliding out a covering raise. Speranza tanked it up for a couple minutes, but he eventually decided 28,000 chips was enough to save for a better spot.

Shorr is pushing towards six figures in the chip department now.

Juha Helps HImself to Teisseire's Chips

The flop was {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {7-Hearts} and Teisseire checked to Helppi who bet 2,400 and he then called. The turn was the {K-Spades} and once again the action was check-call. Helppi determining the bet size and it was 5,900 this time. The final card to hit the deck was the {9-Spades} and it checked through to Helppi who bet 12,000. Cassidy, Rijkenberg Moving Up

From the button, Constant Rijkenberg raised to 1,200, and he found actions from both blinds -- Joe Cassidy and David Hawksworth, respectively.

The three of them checked through the {3-Clubs} {K-Spades} {2-Clubs} flop, and the {Q-Spades} dropped on fourth street. Cassidy took the lead with a bet of 2,700 now, Hawksworth called, and Rijkenberg folded. The river was the {8-Diamonds}, and Cassidy got some more value with a final bet of 4,700. He showed down {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}, and Hawksworth nodded. He flashed his second-best {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts}, and Cassidy takes the pot to move into six figures.

Rijkenberg is up from his starting count, too.

Moussi and Fitoussi

Bruno Fitoussi
Bruno Fitoussi

Under the gun, Bruno Fitoussi looked down at {K-Clubs} {10-Hearts}, and he open-shoved for his last 6,400. Action folded all the way around to the blinds where the similarly named Bruno Moussi opted to make the call, and his {8-Hearts} {9-Hearts} was drawing live for the knockout.

Fitoussi's king held strong, though, and the {6-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} has doubled Fitoussi back over 14,000. Next stop: starting stack!
