Dan Kelly made a raise from the cut-off and Mr A.Hairabedian called in the small blind. We are calling him Mr A.Hairabedian because we don't know his first name. The board ran out and Mr A.Hairabedian bet three streets of 1,200 per pop and Dan Kelly called all three streets. When the hands were over-turned Kelly was a beaten man.
Showdown
James Mitchell made a standard raise under the gun. Burno Benveniste was the player in the big blind and he three-bet to 1,800 and Mitchell called. The flop was and both players checked. The turn was the and Benveniste bet 2,225 and Mitchell called. The last card was the and Benveniste checked to Mitchell who bet 6,200. Benveniste thought for quite a long time before finally folding.
Brent "Astrolux" Roberts was down to 14,250 chips when he got it all in before the flop. He was lucky enough to find , and he had favorable timing, too, finding action from John Hewitt and his .
The board ran out safe for Roberts, coming , and he's doubled almost back to starting stack. On the flip side of things, the November Nine bubble boy from this summer has been reduced to just about 6,200 now.
We just witnessed the hand of the tournament. No, it doesn't involve a massive pot, a clash between multiple super well-known players or some crazy controversy, but just read on and you'll understand.
Winner of Event #2: €1,090 No-Limit Hold'em Andrew Hinrichsen raised from middle position to 750. Daniel Walker called from behind him and then action folded to Thierry Gogniat in the small blind. He made the call and Lionel Cohen called from the big blind.
The four players saw the flop come down and action checked to Hinrichsen. He bet 1,500 and Walker folded. Action fell back on Gogniat and this is where this hand started to get downright awesome. Gogniat check-raised to 3,500 and Cohen folded. Hinrichsen began to tank and was studying Gogniat. When Gogniat realized he was under the glare of Hinrichsen, he pulled open his white, button-up collared shirt to reveal the upper left part of his chest. What was there? A full-blown colored tattoo of the , just fitting for this flop.
All Hinrichsen could do was laugh and then he tossed his hand in. Gogniat picked up one of his cards and turned over the , to which the entire table burst out laughing.
We watched McLean Karr chop a big pot a few moments ago when he and his opponent both made Broadway.
Just now, Karr got a whole pot for himself. We missed the preflop action, but we can surmise that he opened from late position, then called a three-bet from Steven Chao. Chao bet 2,500 on the flop, and Karr made the call. The on the turn drew checks from both, and the river brought the . When Chao checked again, Karr bet 5,875 and was quickly called.
Karr tabled for the baby straight, and it was good. Chao flashed his -- now second-best, and Karr moves up to about 68,000 with that pot.
We are not sure how the action progressed but we know that Alex Wice has doubled up to 25,000 after flopping a set of sixes. His opponent in the hand was Tom Alner who was unfortunate to be holding pocket kings at the time.
Luigi Pignataro raised to 700 in first position and the two blinds called (including Ana Marquez in the small blind). The flop was and after the two blinds checked, Pignataro bet 1,100 and they both called. The turn was the and all three players took the pot control line. The river was the and Marquez bet 3,000 and both of her opponents surrendered their hands.
Antoine Saout has been eliminated. He was all-in pre flop holding versus the of his opponent. Saout did nail his ace on the flop but his opponent nailed his king on the river. Saout stood up and departed and Freddy Deeb sat down in his seat with 30,000.
On a flop, a player we don't recognize led out with a bet (possibly 3,000). Mike McDonald flatted the bet, but [Removed:247] raised all in for 15,325. The initial bettor called, and McDonald called again to put a big pot up for grabs.
The turn came the , and now the bettor checked. McDonald made a bet of 16,000+, and that drew a fold to bring the showdown with [Removed:250] at risk.
McDonald rolled over for the flush, and he had turned the best hand against [Removed:250]'s . Now the Frenchman needed find a heart (not the six of hearts, though) or a board pair to stay alive, and that's just what he got. The river improved him to aces full, and he steals the pot to shoot over 50,000. As the river fell, [Removed:250] screamed out in French, and we're told he said, "You're not going to f*** me every time!" [Removed:250] had his kings cracked by deuce-six earlier in the day, but this pot belongs to him.
McDonald would love to have 100,000 right now, but he'll have to be content with the 42,000 he still has left after that massive pot.
