Johnny Chan!

He doesn't need any introduction or fancy titles, he's Johnny Chan! Chan started off really well in this tournament and he's up to 9,000 chips. We just saw him bet out 2,000 chips into a 2,675 pot on a {2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts} board. His opponent tanked for quite some time and eventually folded his cards.

Chan is seated at the same table as Jennifer Harman who is still around the start stack.

And That's Five

With the arrival of Anton Makiievskiy we had five November Niners in this tournament. Ben Lamb already busted out but he's still in the tournament area, even though it's not a physical presence.

Makiievskiy has an iPad on his lap and with earbuds in he is currently watching the ESPN broadcasts of the Main Event. The Ukrainian player was studying a hand with Ben Lamb and Matt Giannetti at the feature table and he seemed way more interested in their play than his own in this tournament. Makiievskiy folded another hand and kept staring at the little screen.

Be prepared finalists! Anton Makiievskiy is studying every move!

Ebanks All-In

On a flop of {K-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {5-Clubs} Joe Ebanks checked-called a 350 Eric Cajelais button bet. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Ebanks turns from checker to bettor and he makes it 800 to play. Cajelais flexes those big arms of his and makes the call. On the river the dealer gave us the spicy looking {3-Spades} and Ebanks moved all-in for 1,775 and Cajelais went into thought mode. After several minutes of thought Cajelais folded his hand.

Jack Ellwood: Early Chip Leader

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

When it comes to big names in Pot Limit Omaha folklore then No Limit Hold Em Specialist Jack Ellwood is not a name that strikes fear into his opponents. Ellwood wins online tournaments for fun but has not had a good run in a live tournament for quite some time. Maybe he has been playing the wrong game, because Ellwood had sent Daniel Negreanu and Sam Trickett to the stands in the first two levels, and is our new chip leader with 15,000 chips.
